The Questor Imperialis Bandwagon Thread

Recommended Posts

Yeah, just had a look at the points in another thread. If I run a Crusader instead of a Castellan then I can get 4 Knights (Errant, Gallant, Crusader, Preceptor) & 2 Hellglaives for a tad under 2k. It's actually 2k on the dot if I give the Crusader a rfbc instead of thermal cannon, but there's no room for carapace weapons.

oh no. the boosting of knight ion shields through strats, traits, etc. not that 2++ can't exist. my bad.

I don't believe there is a warlord trait that gives a +1. There's a relic that gives a 4++ Ion Shield, but that isn't a flat +1 increase, it's a replacement shield. Is this what people are referring to?

ok so can someone please tell me...as I seem to of missed a memo or something...what in the emperors throne is this new Knight Preceptor that people are throwing around? From what I have gathered it mounts some weird las-weapon and apparently buffs armigers? Where did this new datasheet come from?

It's Canis Rex in generic form. The kit is a dual kit, makes either a generic Preceptor or the specific freeblade Canis Rex. We haven't had previews of it but codex reviews (i.e. Winters SEO and others) mention it.

need to scroll down but it shows the datasheet for the Preceptor. Las-Impulsor.  2 firing profiles.  also the preceptor can have either a stubber/meltagun/multi-laser in the chest.

As soon as I saw the Castellan I wanted it. I still do because it looks great but it's probably gonna be the last thing I pick up from this release. The Preceptor and Helverins look so good together, I can't wait to get them on the table!

So I caved and got:

Codex

Cards

Sheets

Guage

....and a casual copy of Renegade!

I'm not even sure if I'm going to use Renegade yet, but hey I want a Gallant freeblade and a shooty knight to go with the Styrix.

Also think I'm more sold on a Preceptor as opposed to a Valiant/ Castellan seeing as I owe 4 mini-knights... And when I think of big knights I think the FW ones are a bit better. Then again, a suicide Valiant who's only aim is to CHARGE, deal loads of damage and explode for MASSIVE DAMAGE!

do we know the point costs for las impulsor and also the multilaser?

I think the Las Impulsor is part of the base cost of the Preceptor, so it's 0.  The Multilaser should be 10 points based on IG codex, but it could be higher due to BS 3+ . . .

If the crusader can take the weapon then it'll have a point cost. Otherwise it won't need one.

for the multi laser: we pay 17 for our meltas per the index compared to 12 of the AM codex one. So maybe 15?

3 Gallants, 4 Armiger Warglaives.

I know I shouldn't, because it's a terrible army really.

But my Warglaives did me so proud in their forgebane incarnation, that they should be given a chance in their buffed state.

Or I drop 1 Warglaive and cram in the guard CP regen battalion

Honestly Gallants look very competitive with the new startegems and traits. Run them as House Terryn and landstrider and you are going to get several turn 1 charges.
