True scale Heresy SW

Superb idea - so much so I've already 'borrowed' it for a special project, and my EC Drstroyers that'll probably never happen.....

I'm really somewhat dejected by 'mini marines' these days. I generally prefer modelling my Death Guard due to the better size/scale.

I think you can get away with MK3 legs for a decent size, it's just the MK4 that's tiny. I'm actually in the process of converting some of the Mutilpart DG into World Eater triarri, I reckon someone of your skill could 'wolf up' the Plague marine bodies/legs. They have some very nice close combat arms too. Might be worth a punt!

personally, for Mk.III truescaling I just use cataphractii legs [or, for that matter, Grave Warden legs coz of the tabards with chains and such] - albeit with larger torsos volume-wise, whether made from terminator torso fronts with regular power armour backs or an associate's expansion of regular mk.III with greenstuff: as I rather feel that standard Mk.III torsos are undersized in comparison to both legs and the proportional demands of truescaling and can look a bit 'wasp-waist'-ish. Your mileage may, of course, vary

Dependent upon how you go with your legs and bodies, you may find that you need to expand the arms somewhat - the older resin FW arms in particular are chronically undersized, although the newer Mk.III plastics are better in this regard.

The ones you've got don't look bad at all, although I'd be careful about the shoulder/armpit area where the pad's left things exposed.

One problem with the FW torsos for truescaling is that as excellent as they look, we find ourselves having to attempt to slice 'em down the middle , which is obviously annoying and difficult. However, if you were to go down that route because you wanted the chestpiece , then you could probably shift the cabling around the abdominal uh .. "love handle" area outwards to expand the interior  torso area. If that makes sense.

Miiight be a little much for truscaling a whole army, but imo if you're going to truescale, best go all the way :D

Also where's that head from btw, it's excellent!

waitwaitwait .. so let me get this straight - the HH FW SW Terminators ... are *already* well bigger than indomitus pattern? to be fair, cataphractii was always rather large itself, but you're implying unless i'm mistaken that the Varagyr are bigger still again?

If so ... dependent upon the size differential ... this may mean I can avoid grabbing *yet more* Horus and Perturabo minis for terminator construction ...

I'm as confused as you are mate. Especially since the pictures don't show them looking that large.

But the proof is right there in Grieux's photo. The Varagyr is as big, if not bigger, than the Primaris Marine.

Yes I was very happily surprised too but they are a bigger scale than any other fw model I've seen, specially when you consider:

- All of their legs are in dynamic poses and therefore spread understating their height.

- Terminator armor forces you to be hunched forward (only way you can explain shoulder to head alignment) so again they'd be even taller should they stand straight.

Haha thanks mates. I don't think they'll look weird besides plastic SW or bac ones. I don't have any bac cataphractii but can quick fit a plastic SW terminator if you want?

And yes the issue I had with cataphractii arms is that they looked stumpy compared to their bodies.

I didn't try the plastic cataphractii ones though so these might have worked better.
