Terminator Sergeants... umm...

Recommended Posts

They don't really exist amongst the Templars, but you kinda can't field Terminators without them (And yes, I want hulking smash machines with Storm Bolters rerolling their charges, no matter how overpriced they are!).

So apart from them being the guys with the mandatory Power Swords, do you mark your Sergeants in any way? Play them differently than in other chapters?

And incidentally, Templar Terminators still have white helmets, right?

My recent squad of assault terminators I've all painted them the same, the only thing really distinguishing the Sergeant is as Marshal Wolfhart mentions above, Mk1 Stubborn Helmet!  Going on the sword brethren theme they all have red trim and normal black helmets.  I didn't really like the look of the white helmets.

Contrary to popular belief, Templars do have Sgts. The line that people got that from in the old codex actually simply says that most crusader squads don't have veteran Sgts, because they've already been promoted to sword brethren.

4th ed codex was odd in thst way. Some squads had sgts and some didnt.

But 3rd ed armageddon codex explicitly had no sgts, even the terminators and such didn't get sgts if I'm remembering correctly.

I think the only squad that had a sergeant entry in 4th ed codex was the command squad.

Otherwise, there's a reason every military in the world has leaders on different tactical/strategic levels, brotherhood of warriors or no. It is only sensible, that even in the same rank, one would assume command to get a squad combat effective.
