Imperial Knight Custom Household

Recommended Posts

Awesome. Lots to like here, the scheme (red Imperials are surprisingly rare), the basing, weathering and I especially like the iconography.

Good job

Thank you very much indeed! Yes, I thought the same - you don't get many red Imperials, what with the Mars connection and all.

Cheers :)

I like it when "real world" heraldry is used; it adds something extra to the overall effect, which you've certainly achieved. I must look out mine....

Thank you very much indeed! Its something I've been meaning to do for a while, and finally had the opportunity and impetus to get it done :) very happy with the result.

This is a really nice scheme, superbly executed and I love the heraldry. Did you use custom decals?

Thanks! In fact I made these myself using blank transfer sheets that are suitable for printing - turns out it was easier than I expected!

Can I ask which painting/drawing/design software you used for your designs? I have the decal sheets but have yet to find a suitable software package to create the designs.

Wow, awesome work and very inspiring.  Great colors

Cheers! I think the colours lend a nice 'Knightly' feel to it :)

Of course! I used Photoshop and worked with stock images of the family crest in order to achieve what I wanted. Photoshop is great because it allows you to scale things without loss of quality to the image overall.

The Knights look great! Are they bearing House Bathory coats-of-arms?

Thanks! No, this is the recognised coat of arms of the Porter family, so my own family in fact :) its weird, but most families have a coat of arms if you look back far enough.

Thanks. And I'm guessing it's Photoshop and not Photoshop Elements? As far as I can remember, Elements lacks the finesse for drawing unlike Photoshop (CC I think the latest version is)..

I think you are right. I have elements and it seems to lack in a few areas. It's been useful to me for removing the colour cast from my photos though.

I've been working with the full photoshop package, yes :)

I really like these knights. The banner decoration is very appropriate. I'm surprised there aren't more banner options in the kits now I think about it.

Thanks :) Yeah, Im a big fan of the banner. May do some more work on it, and potentially add a bit more to the other models - it really does bring something to the table.

Nice pose on that Castellan

Thanks! I was determined to get some movement into the model, after doing static poses on my Questoris Knights. Thankfully the kit was kind when it came to this as the upper and lower leg are separate parts, easily reposed.

Excellent work.

Cheers!

Very fine work:yes: Thanks for sharing.

Thanks very much, you are very welcome! More to come in the future :)

Simply wonderful knights on show here. The use of a family crest is genius as well, my own has a rather handsome black lion on it. Sadly as a Malinax scion I needed it to be a triple tailed scorpion.

Again, just some amazing knights well done !

Thanks Trixie! Its something I've wanted to do as a project since Knights happened a few years back. Finally had some time and inclination to get on with it. Malinax is an amazing house scheme, and I nearly did that myself!
