Has anyone played around with 3 BA librarians?

 

A combo of the Libby dread, Mephiston and a jump pack Libby could be really workable

 

*Disclaimer. Going 3 librarians may mean dropping Slamguinius and taking an aux detachment with a Culexus.

 

As a core to make it work, I think you would need;

 

Jump Libby

Mephiston

Libby dread

 

3 cc scout squads

 

Sanguinary Guard

Ancient with relic banner

 

Super speed warlord librarian with WoS and Unless Rage means you could alpha with Sanguinary guard and go for a later massive reposition (DoA/UWoF). Dread can act as captain with WoA strat. Mephiston would follow up the rear casting smite/blood boil. Libby or Mephiston can be launched up with WoS turn 2.

 

Looks pretty fun but there is a lot of competition for HQ slots with BA.

Sorry. Should add that 3 librarians is to open up empyric channeling for a turn 1 reliable cast of whatever really needs to go off. Turn 2 the Culexus drops to give you psychic phase domination.

You can't cast the same power more than once, so taking 3 librarians, 2 of which both want to use the same powers, seems counter productive.

1 librarian with a jump pack and buff spells to follow a big cc unit and either Mephiston or a libby dread could work, but not both of them.

They both want wings+quickening way too much.

 

If you want more smites, take primaris psykers.

Not librarians who pay through the nose for their combat ability.

I put a list together with the only power overlap being WoS for all. Since it lasts untill your next psychic phase, meaning you get to move your normal distance , then fly 12" in your psychic phase and fly 12" in your turn.

 

If you used WoS on Mephiston/Libby Dread turn 1, they will still be fast turn 2 with Libby/Mephiston/jump libby getting turn 2 WoS.

 

With empyric channeling and 3 psykers, you have access to rerolls with the dread, rerolls on sanguinary guard with warlord and a lot of options so that your opponent can't look at your list and know exactly what your going to do.

 

Obviously not super competitive but gives you a lot of tools and would be pretty fun.

With Gallians Staff +1 and the channelling stratagem +2, you can add 3 to your smites, so super smiting on an 8+.
