Closet Skeleton
Knights were terrible pre-codex and I have a hard time seeing how they could jump up to being that good when even with Hawkshroud being a bit OP their firepower hasn't gone up too much. Chaos have tons of stuff that's good against knights. Tzeentch daemons will ruin their day pretty easily. Veterans of the long war is amazing vs knights. Get off that 1d3 chance of a toughness debuff spell and bolters can wound them on 4s. Blades of putrefaction is also really good. Just keeping up mortal wound pressure is quite effective. Blight launcher spam with arch contaminator should play havoc with knight armies. An unlucky turn against nurgle daemon engines can potentially shut them down for that round. If you can kill a knight a turn (and most competitive armies can) then knights should just have too few models to win reliably. The biggest mistake you can probably make vs knights is relying on a expensive high damage output unit of your own, because they will be able to deal with that. BlackTriton
Knight will overperform in the short term since a lot of players wont know how to deal with them, and/or did not consider them in list building. They play so radically different than anything else, it will take time to adjust. no reason to worry just now.
