Omnissiahs Fury
https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/resources/PDF/Downloads//warhammer_40000_termite_assault_drill_en.pdf We finally got a transport! Anybody else itching to try it out? Debating on throwing some Rust stalkers in it for some suprise flank attacking, or maybe just some lowly rangers to hole up next to an objective personally. This does bring another question to mind though, How would you gear it? i'm torn between flamers for fiery death, or double twin volkite for some pinging. CommodusXIII
My army has no flamers, so I'd probably go that route. They'll be in the thick of things, so roasting campers or chargers would be fun. domsto
Why is everybody so hyped about a transport? i never use one in my Army's and never had the Feeling i am missing something. Transports aren't that great in this Edition Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/348263-omnissiah-bless-us-we-got-a-transport/#findComment-5107572 Share on other sites
Gaz1858
Why is everybody so hyped about a transport? i never use one in my Army's and never had the Feeling i am missing something. Transports aren't that great in this Edition I personally really like it as, running Fulgurite Priests, when I go second theyre basically fodder unless I can hide them. This allows me to go second and still bring them in safely later. As for the loadout I was considering the Twin Volkite but it is a Heavy weapon meaning 4s to hit after moving. I will probably have it remain as Stormbolters to keep the points down. With uses, as above, its a safe place for Fulgurites in a Stygies list when going second. I do think it is worth throwing in an Inquisitor for those with Detachment space. Their three Psychic powers allow 1. No Overwatch 2. Auto Pass Morale 3. Take over a character and shoot one weapon or make a single close combat attack. All of these are really great for Priest back up and No 3 is especially useful now given the prevalence of IKnight Characters. Oh you have a shiny relic gun eh? Lets just point that at your friend and see what happens... or if the chance comes up Oh look your Iknight is within an inch of {insert big thing here}, lets just use that big fist of yours to give him a high five....Eisenhorn is my choice here simply because he can take two of the powers and cast two each turn. Outside of this the transport could mean your quite fragile 5 man Vanguard/Ranger squad which is running about trying to cap objectives and hope nobody notices suddenly becomes a lot harder to shift and your wracking up Obj points. Transports aren't that great in this Edition Because we don't have a lot of ways to build good army lists without variety? a man with an unlimited bank account could probably run an army dedicated to these transports popping up and unloading infantry to the front and drilling down the front lines. Admec never had a transport so the people who want transports and still wanna play admec are very happy about this. Omnissiahs Fury
I like transports just to get people moving to where I need them, it's like a bullet proof shield. Yes a shield that can blow up, but 90% of the units we would put into the drill would probably die to small arms fire. Now considering if putting a single tech priest with the auto cadaceus in to keep it alive to drill things to death. Conversions are a possibility, but it'll be tough to actually run this competitively since GW frowns mightily on using other models in their events . . .
