hermanista
Awight, More thoughts from myself, inspired by the decision making I'm going through at the moment of selling off my painted knights to go for a different household/colour scheme. With regards to making our guard batteries fit aesthetically with our knights, what households go with which models? So for example I love the idea of house hawkshroud knights on a crusade with a pilgrimage of commoners, using the upcoming cawdor models for the ragtag rabble of the Imperium. Whilst for house Terryn you might go for a more pious model set, with trumpets, banners etc etc. So with that in mind, what conversions/theme could folks suggest for each household? Kierdale
Some of the Empire - pardon me - ‘Freeguild - models or their bits (heads, etc.) would be perfect. Marshal Reinhard
It really depends a lot on how big and how in depth you wanna go. But I would say for any Questoris Imperialis house getting some Tempestus Scions bits should mix in quite well. The trim on their armor can match the one on your knights and armiger, and if you get a pilot model or two from the future Canis Rex kit, that should really cement the link. But like I said really depends on what you do with the greater force in general. Maybe just limit those pieces to more important officer types if you're doing a more peasant mob type of entourage. I see myself making a 'peacekeeping force' or a 'policing force' (Noble wouldn't be caught dead acknowledging them as part of the real fighting force) of some actually well equipped and highly trained troops, so Tempestus makes sense both to me in rules and look. Change their banner to be one proudly displaying the Terryn household insignia instead of the scion one. Hadn't really thought it through much beyond this. The talk of more banners, trumpets and more pompous nonsense actually sounds really fun :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/348364-household-retainers-model-choices/#findComment-5109942 Share on other sites
Heliomanes
I'm going the Questor Mechanicus route with Tech Thralls as guardsmen and Titan Princeps as company commanders. I like the models, and they are distinct enough to be distinguishable from the Skitarii clans while fitting in with them as a part of a cohesive whole. Tiger9gamer
three squads of ten skitarii for some bodies and two enginseers, gives me enough room for four knights. Nusquam
I went with Scions myself. They echo the Knights visuals quite well. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/348364-household-retainers-model-choices/#findComment-5110227 Share on other sites
walter h
I hope you are continuing your troop conversions,as I thought you were on an interesting track. I still haven't found my vision of my home troops. I now have two Helverins that I need to decide who they are, what their personal status. frosteldar
I still say the upcoming models from Kill Team Rogue Trader would work well! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/348364-household-retainers-model-choices/#findComment-5111499 Share on other sites
walter h
Have to see more of them, and have to find out how many per kit. The character would be of interest to me though. Battybattybats
This thread brought to mind the idea of putting a Secutarii Hoplite on a Dragoon. Red_Shift
Genestealer cultists with headswaps look suitably industrial but I agree scions look more fancy. Ahistorian
Scions with Vanguard helmets get my vote. It's an easy change that adds some subtle Omnissian flavour.
