Delta.Skies
Do you still do edge highlights with a weathered effect? I'm doing deathwatch with a grayish black weathered appeal and thinking what would my edge highlights consist of when it comes to miniatures? Thoughts and opinions are appreciated Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/348525-weathering-and-highlights/ Share on other sites
PeteySödes
I always blend highlight all the way up to what would be an edge highlight before weathering. The way I see it, I want the mini to look good before weathering and the weathering is just bonus effect. Krakendoomcool
Agreed paint it first then weather. Having said that you might struggle to get the weathering to show up on Deathwatch as they are black. Weathering usually has most impact on a light and even armour colour. The weathering will contrast easily with these. To get it to show up on Deathwatch armour is going to be challenging. Try to find other examples of weathering on dark colours. Can anyone post some examples or tips for weathering dark colours? PeteySödes
Pigments are great on black. Choose your flavor for how you base them then put a bit where any dust or grit would gather.
