Age of Sigmar Subforum

Recommended Posts

Evening gentlemen, ladies, transhumans, mutant freaks, abhumans and many more!

While I am sure this has been brought up, my search function has not found anything of substance on the topic. So here I go into the unknown.

While I understand that this is a 40k board, the BnC community has been ever expanding it's borders over the years to become an all encompassing juggernaut of all things GW.

With the release of AoS 2.0 it would be a great opportunity to expand once more. I would venture that a general forum and perhaps a subforum for each grand alliance would suffice to support the community.

Is this just real posibility or is it just heresy?

There are plenty of B&C members, including moderati and administrators, that enjoy Age of Sigmar. It took the B&C almost two decades to expand from just Space Marines to cover the entire scope of the Warhammer 40,000 setting, and that was due to the changes in the game. I wouldn't expect the B&C to further expand to cover Age of Sigmar unless changes to Warhammer 40,000 render that appropriate to continue to meet our mission statement:

The Bolter & Chainsword exists to help people better enjoy and understand the Warhammer 40,000 hobby and games set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe through constructive discussion.

In the meantime, hobbyists looking for a place to discuss the Age of Sigmar game are always free to do what Bloodsaint, the B&C's founder, did when he couldn't find a safe harbor for Space Marine discussion on the Internet back in the late '90s - create a site. You will find that creating and sustaining a viable discussion website is an immense amount of work. If you enjoy the hobby, and if you run the site well, however, you will find that it is worth it.

Since I can't PM Brother Tyler and get Administratum's opinion via PMs, I'd like to ask here?

It's something I have previously considered and the recent thread convinced me that I'm missing such a safe space for AoS discussion, just like B&C is for 40k and RPGnet are for RPGs/media/politics, so I'd actually like to create one, riffing off these inspirations. Working name for it - Stormbolt & Hammer.

I would like to ask, since the community here has expressed interest, if it would be permissible and acceptable for the B&C board to forward those interested in AoS towards the new site once it's established, e.g. by means of an announcement and/or moderati replying to AoS-related stuff with "hey, if you wish to discuss AoS, there's S&H overe there" or something to that effect, whatever you're comfortable with - and of course we would likewise redirect all 40k related interest and traffic towards B&C, treating it as a kind of a "parent forum", if you will.

Does that sound agreeable? Please feel free to PM me if you wish to discuss details in public :)
