HighMarshalAmp
Is there any fluffy way to integrate an Honor Guard unit into a BT force? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/348620-templar-honor-guard/ Share on other sites
Marshal Reinhard
I was gonna write a reply, explaining how crusades are built up as per the old Templar Codex (the one true source of templar fluff) and how this can be used to explain both 'command squads' and 'honour guard' and how they fit in the crusade structure. But then I realized I was still stuck in 7th edition thinking, and consulting the 8th edition rules. I find that Honour guard is a unit I no longer recognise. Medjugorje
I love the hg. I often use them to help the Emperors Champion to survive. A EC who survives a melee fight can still kill a secound strong character. Brother Tyler
Yes. The honour guard is simply a group of hand-picked sword brothers accompanying your HQ as a bodyguard. HighMarshalAmp
Yeah, I'd have gone with 'Sword Brethren on 'roids' as well... but I was hoping for some 'Lieutenants are Castellans' background - still, if there is none, I can get creative about how Marshal Amp chose his retinue and why they're twice as hardy as their comrades...
