Black Guard and the Primaris

Recommended Posts

Hail, brothers of the Ravenspire!

Visiting from the Meduson conclave with a question.

My successor chapter has a close relationship with the Black Guard, scions of the XIX. I was recently gifted a squad of hellblasters, and Primaris aren’t the best fit in my chapter’s lore, though it’s not out of the question.

I’ve considered, then, painting them up as part of Black Guard forces attached as an honor guard for a Black Guard captain who has come to visit my chapter. They would become an allied force to my main troops, and I’d like to keep it fluffy as best I can.

Do the Black Guard use Primaris in any official lore or form, or do they reject it? What is the Primogenitor’s stance on the issue, with the idea that their decision affects their successors?

I appreciate any help you can provide, sons of Corax. grumblegrumble filthy cowards

I jest, cousins.

My initial thoughts are the RG would accept Primaris Marines because there is no official reason to suggest they wouldn't otherwise. Considering the precident they have challenges to increase their ranks, then Primaris may relieve such stress.

As such, it's like the Black Guard would also accept them for the same reasons.

I believe this an excellent match as the Black Guard believe in the timely application of overwhelming firepower to defeat their foes and are the masters of careful ambush. Overkill or half-measures are not concepts which the Black Guard understand, and they are known to leave vast, cratered ruins in the wake of their many victories. All traits which suggest utilizing Hellblasters a natural choice as a visiting unit.
