anarchistscourge
So from what I've seen all over the net Leviathan's are amazing and do very good work in a deathwatch list. My issue is I'm not a massive fan of spending that much money and not a fan of how they look, so have been contemplating kitbashing a Nemesis Dreadknight with a Redemptor and turn it into a Leviathan. The writing on the nemesis strikes me as very deathwatch and I love the main body of a redemptor. Do you think this could work, like would it be the right height / scale? How would you model 2x Stormcannon arrays? I was thinking of using some of the autocannon bits from anvil industries: http://anvilindustry.co.uk/Regiments/regiments-heavy-support-weapons/regiments-autocannon-heavy-support-weapon Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/348678-leviathan-dreadnought-kitbashing-questions/ Share on other sites
Halandaar
Well, the price of the component parts (Redemptor, NDK, AI Autocannons) is actually higher than just buying the FW Leviathan. Then there's the work of filing down 8 individual Autocannons so they fit together well, and both sets of 4 are symmetrical, and then finding a way to attach them to the body. I think the best solution would be to get the Easy to Build Redemptor, sack off the NDK and 3rd party Autocannons and use the cash saved just to get the 2 FW Stormcannon arrays. Those will be much easier to graft on to the Redemptor in a way that looks both satisfying and convincing. The NDK doesn't really offer anything except for height, and the Redemptor is already slightly taller than a Leviathan so it's not as if you need it! anarchistscourge
Yeah I realised just after I posted that the cost difference isn't huge. But it would be good to have a unique leviathan. In regards to the size, I was unaware that the leviathan was shorter than a redemptor. Would that put a Dreadknight around 1" taller than the Leviathan? The reason for using the Dreadknight is for the engraved plates that strike me as very deathwatch, I also love how industrial it is. Son of Sacrifice
The easy to build Redemptor would actually make a decent Leviathan stand in. Using the gatling cannon as a storm cannon. azn.gamer
Not sure if this helps any, but that's how I kit-bashed my Redemptor with Leviathan legs. Delta.Skies
Not sure if this helps any, but that's how I kit-bashed my Redemptor with Leviathan legs. I wanted to go this route, he looks awesome just a tad bit on the top heavy side. But it think its the weapons but that's minor. Any more pics??? Any more pics???As soon as I have him back from my friend who does all of my painting I'll take a couple more. The plasma is a "heavier" looking weapon, but I kind of messed up the gatling. I kit-bash & model - I don't actually play so it wasn't a big deal. The angle isn't helping either, I had a photo before somewhere and it doesn't look as top heavy. I tried repairing it, b/c I preferred that weapon, but meh. Hopefully in the next two weeks I can upload more pictures of my DN and my DW Kill team models.
