Heresy FAQS - At Last!

Yeah no I mean nuts for the point cost. The fact that it gives any weapon in the unit Interceptor is very good, too good for the points. 48 inch interceptor bubble on Missiles or Las Cannons is brutal and can be devastating. If this was intended then the points cost should go up. IMO.

Yupp, although it hits reserves heavy lists only.

It also lends itself to some weird moments in the game.

Master of Signals in a Quad launcher battery are now a premier anti air weapon.

Lists that are light on reserves might be hit harder. If you have a single ouflanking unit of landspeeders, they are gonna have a bad time if your opponent has a heavy support team, cuase not taking that 5 point augury scanner is going to be a big no-no.

I'm strongly against the motion that the interceptor buff was too much. It's a counter, by design, to the top tier reserve heavy lists. Outflanking vets are still too good, but at least now you have to buy them a rhino.

In what way are they nuts?

For 5 points the character with this item and any unit this character is attached to gains the interceptor special rule with out any of the previous provisions and without any range limitation.

Apothecary in an Iron Havoc Squad? You betcha

Iron Havocs don't even need an Apothecary, the sergeant can take one :smile.:

Just like any regular Heavy Support Squad can. I don't think that it is too good either.

Veterans, Javelins and the omnipresent Leviathan in a Drop Pod are, so that counter was necessary I guess.

I appreciate the arguments for and against the auger scanner change. I’m in agreement with it being a balancing factor, mainly from the perspective of infantry vs vehicles.

Heavy support squads are so fragile for their points cost, now you have a reason to take them (ie protection from reserves). It forces you to make more of a choice about your heavy support slots. Look at how many points you have to pay for a lascannons support squad, the change to the augury scanner (IMHO) takes them from overcosted to viable.

This FAQ managed to answer a lot of questions and issues I had, but I have noticed 2 things it has missed:

A Questoris Knight Errant is listed as having Heavy Stubbers but no numbers given, I suspect its a typo and should be singular but....

And also do regular Warlord Titans Arioch Power claws get the built in vulcan mega bolter like the psi titan does or not?

The arioch power claw faq is in the book 5 faq. Regular warlords get it for i think +75pts
