Apostle of the 30th Host
In my 30k Thousand Sons army, I want to include a Sicaran Venator. To save points, I won't be using side sponsons, however, this leaves two circular holes either side of the Sicaran's hull. So, I was wondering how a Deimos Rhino door would fit over this hole. I just noticed that ForgeWorld do a Thousand Sons specific sculpt and this would be a nice way of adding extra iconography to the model. For those who are unsure what I mean: Will this... https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-GB/Thousand-Sons-legion-Deimos-Rhino-Doors-2017 …fit in this? https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=sicaran+no+sponsons&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjns9STvpTcAhWC1hQKHROMCGoQ_AUICigB&biw=1366&bih=651#imgrc=poNol5vuvuvqEM: *Or at the very least, over that without looking noticeable too big. Perhaps if the hinges were cut away etc. Would appreciate images if anyone has successfully done something similar - thanks! Lucien Eilam
Deimos Rhino door diameter is ~31mm, depending on how good a job the casters were doing that day. The main sponson hole is something like ~24mm, with another 1-2mm of bevelled surround leading up to the side plate. So, they won't fit, but they would cover it, and probably enough that you could even edge them forward a bit rather than centring them over the hole, so they don't obscure the panel line at the rear. I think they'd look odd just stuck on the side, but it's a solid enough chunk of resin you could consider extending the hole so they'd sit flush.
