I'd keep him keep with a maul and 2+ save so he can pile into something to save the day so your commander can escape if needed :) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

As a weapon, I actually kind of like the ripper gun - keeps him cheap, gives him a tiny bit of reach, while still being reasonable in mellee. S5 is enough for most infantry threats. Plus, it makes him instantly recognisable, since no other ogryn can have that combination of equipment.
