Ultramarine vet
So in the rules, it says "You must deploy at least half of your army on the table." So only half can be in reserves. But....odd numbers?? If I have 21 units, would I be able to put 10 units in reserve, or 11? I need more specification on that to clarify. Thanks in advance! Mr. Shine
What's half of 21? Is 10 at least that much? (Hint: Half of 21 is 10.5 so you need at least that many units on the table, and you can't deploy fractions of units, so...) Ultramarine vet
Yes, I obviously know what half of 21 is, thanks for that. All that was required was yes, you would have to deploy 11 units. Mr. Shine
Soz, I just figured, "at least" was rather obvious... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/348970-odd-number-of-units-and-reserves/#findComment-5126114 Share on other sites
Ultramarine vet
It would be even better wording if it was "half of your army rounding down" Because at least half of 21 is more than 10, but less than 11. And no rounding was mentioned. So you don't need to act like its the most obvious thing in the world. Interrogator-Chaplain Ezra
Except it *is* the most obvious thing in the world. "At least half." If you have 21 units, 10 is less than half, 11 is slightly more than half. The wording is clear as day if you ever had maths in school. I don't think "maths" is a word either, so there is that. When someone is reading WORDING, not calculating MATH, things can get MISREAD. Lol. Whether it's English comprehension or understanding mathematics, it is a clear statement. At least half. Half of 21 is 10.5, so 10 is at least half and 11 is not. Ultramarine vet
We can all agree that it is in fact obvious and move on. There, now we can end this discussion. Not gonna act like my spelling is better or something. I feel this thread has gotten too hot, so I do apologize to all that have posted here. I suppose I feel like a moron for missing the wording, but its no excuse to get defensive. I hope to be better in the future in both regards. Have a good day guys. Dam13n
If you can't play nicely, don't play at all. This isn't acceptable behaviour here in the OR. So this thread is Terminated. If I see this sort of behaviour from any of you in the OR again, I'll be dishing out official warnings.
