HighMarshalAmp
You know which one. That guy you want to load a Plasma Gun, a Plasma Pistol and a Chainsword onto. At least I want to do that. What are your creative solutions to represent as many parts of that load out as possible on one single model? Also yes, I know that it won't be an issue in any gaming communities worth playing in. But I'd still like him to carry all 3 weapons... a guy can dream, right? If one reads the rules, at least as they are right now, each Grey Hunter pack may take up to two Plasma Pistols; I think one can also give a PP to any GH with a PG. If not on their unique entry line, if the pack may take it, you can choose to load up one GH with all that you like, so long as the overall unit and its options are legal. Hfran Morkai
Wielding pistol and chainsword with a "mag-locked" plasma gun. Holstered chainsword from MkIII marine, mag-locked plasma pistol, holding plasma gun. The wonders of Mag-Locks. Makes you wonder why some marines bother with sidearm holsters (I suppose it keeps the weapon clean) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/348981-that-one-grey-hunter-modeling-advice/#findComment-5126517 Share on other sites
HighMarshalAmp
Holstered Chainsword, you say? I need to find that on eBay! @Karack yeah, I'm only talking about bitz. Should have made that clearer, I realize that now. Gemini
There's also the holstered bolter in the Thunderwolves sprues. Attach that, trim off the clip and you don't even have to worry about painting plasma glow... I think it can be done, but where is it said a pack can have 2 plasma pistols? I thought only one can have a plasma pistol, although there doesn't seem to be a limitation on who it can be taken, hence the crazy but cool idea to put the plasma gun and pistol on the same dude. Practically speaking though, remember we have to choose between firing our pistol weapons OR the other weapons. So putting the pistol on the plasma gun dude means he will have to choose which one to use, as opposed to another grey hunter firing the pistol together. Wispy
MKIII kit and their holstered chainswords and pistols are super handy. I got it so all my Greyhunters have Chainswords/CCWs now. I got somewhat of a clever conversion for the plasma gun. Let me take some photos. Wispy
the conversion i was talking about is the dude on the the left. i retired my first squad of greyhunters because the painting is , but without them i needed to get some plasma guns back in my army. so i added a plasma gun to this dude - a modification of 'mark of wulfen' greyhunter that I did a while ago. mark of the wulfen is gone now, of course (replaced by actual wulfen) but I figured with the tattoos he had the right look for a suicidal plasma gunner. i didn't want to mess with the model too much and only wanted to swap in a plasma gun to a single hand. HOWEVER, most plasma guns are huge! one handing the things look awful! the guy on the right, he has a plasma gun from the MKIII box. they're much smaller so they don't look as bad when a grey hunter is one handing them. for the guy on the lift, I improvised a carrying handle so he could haul it around like briefcase (i used a greyknight heavy weapon hand). it was inspired by this hellbalster model GW did: if you were to do something similar, i would recommend doing something similar to those two dudes and putting the plasma pistol in his offhand. for the chainsword, try to get some mkiii bits so you can hang his chainsword from his belt. They have tis little hook that lets you attatch to their waist, right ubder theur backpack.
