DIY Smash Captain, Shield question

Picked up a pair of the deathwatch heavy thunder hammers tonight from a local guy to build my own smash captains for my raven guard. Anyone else done this and how would you model the storm shield? I'm thinking of maybe using the combat shield from the assault squads. Maybe throw a little more tech stuff or purity deals to make it look better.

I kinda love either using the wings from Sanguinary Guard as shields, or the storm shields from Custodes. The Custodes shields should be available readily as well from anyone who's built some with guardian spears. The Sanguinary wings though can look really cool as shields for avian or angelic chapters. As far as attaching them with the hammer, that'd be tougher, and a smaller buckler like the combat shield may make sense unless there's somewhere on the model you can easily attach a shield. Though now I kinda wonder if you could work the wing into the shoulder as a sort of integrated shield...

I used that same hammer for my captain, for the shield I used what is probably supposed to be a combat shield, and my hand drill to put a magnet in the top of the captains hand and another in the underside of the shield.

The shield has a slot to fit it onto a vambrace, but it also neatly fits over the hand that holds the bottom of the hammer, so the magnet locks the shield into place nicely.

Let's me run captain Smash with the shield, or the combi-melta I sometimes like.
