sairence
Hey people. I'm playing around with having a single Knight or a small Knight Lance walk in support of my Imperial Guard force. The main job of which is to soak up fire, walk up and punch things. I own a Knight Errant and two Warglaives and am trying to get my hands on a Thunderstrike Gauntlet to run the big one as a Gallant. I haven't had a chance to run them much so I'm wondering what would work well in terms of Household, Warlordtrait and Relic to help him do the job. I want to go with Questor Imperalis, as that feels like it would be more likely to deploy in support of the Guard. When going with a Lance, I've so far gone with Hawkshroud, Ion Bulwark and Armour of the Sainted Ion, simply to go maximum survivality with a 2+/3++ with rotating shields. When running the big Knight by itself, I've thought about Terryn, for the fight again strategem and the same combination Would you experts have any different combinations? Is the armour relic potentially a bit redundant? mertbl
I've used hawkshroud. The overwatch and charge strat is good. Ion bulwark warlord trait. On a crusader i use the gatling cannon relic. Karhedron
Hawkshroud is a good all-rounder for Questor Imperialis. If you want to get up close quickly and start hitting things then Terryn is also well worth a look. A Terryn Gallant with Landstrider and 2 Warglaives are seriously fast and pack one heck of a wallop. The Gallant has an average threat range of 29.5" (assuming you Advance and the use "Full Tilt"). That makes a Turn 1 charge quite easy to pull off. A Lance will set you back a little over 700 points which should leave you with plenty to spend on IG to take objectives and mop up the Gallant's trail of destruction. It won't die easily and even if it does get taken down, it is still one heck of a distraction carnifex.
