SITZKRIEG!
Hey folks, I was considering buying some wulfen for the bits and using the backpacks (without the extra bone dreamcatcher metal plate part) for other marines. Are the wulfen backpacks larger than standard Space Wolves ones you get in the Grey Hunter kit? Does anyone here have both so as to compare and/or post a pic? They look quite large on some of the models but I"m not sure if that's just an artifact of the wolf heads on the exhaust nozzles or if the pack itself is also larger. I'd probably start out with putting them on some primaris since they're about wulfen size so any help in this regard would be greatly appreciated. Jarl of Wulfen
They are larger than normal marine ones. I don't have any primaris but my guess is they'd look ok. Jackalwolf
Perfect for primaris :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/349262-wulfen-backpack-size/#findComment-5134744 Share on other sites
Wispy
Yeah they're pretty much perfect for Primaris. They look comically big on mini Marines. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/349262-wulfen-backpack-size/#findComment-5135927 Share on other sites
SITZKRIEG!
Thanks for the replies. I've been slowly accumulating the bits that I need for some conversions so I'll probably wait to see them in person if possible if no one has any pics of the two side by side. They look gargantuan even on some of the Wulfen models I've seen in my image search on the subject. Dantay VI
54 by Danny Taylor, on Flickr 52 by Danny Taylor, on Flickr thumbnail25 by Danny Taylor, on Flickr The pack itself is slightly larger, but its the trophies which can make it look seriously oversized thumbnail (12) by Danny Taylor, on Flickr Besides if it sits too high and looks too big in that aspect, cut the nubbin off the Space Wolves back and lower the backpack slightly. SITZKRIEG!
Thanks, that does help. It does look like the heads come at different angles with some bending down which minimizes their size potentially as well. Dantay VI
Yes, tere is about 5 different bacpacks. To minimise height you could remove the trophies from the back plate I only use these for characters and unit leaders Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/349262-wulfen-backpack-size/#findComment-5137097 Share on other sites
sbarnby71
I use the trophy racks on my normal marines backpacks, just a bit of trimming where they attach to the top of the backpack and they look fine.
