Brother Antio
Hi guys, so I’m looking to get some Primaris Marines for kill team and am thinking of how best to make them stand out. How good a fit are regular marine parts on Primaris Marines? Thinking heads and shoulder pads mainly, but was also thinking of swapping some chapter specific weapons for Reivers. Cheers Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/349268-primaris-conversions/ Share on other sites
our_baz
Heads, pads and arms swap fine with minimal effort. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/349268-primaris-conversions/#findComment-5134859 Share on other sites

Seeing regular marine parts are virtually the only way to give primaris melee weapons at all, yeah, it's pretty trivial and designed so from the start... azn.gamer
Here is the 35th Anniversary Sgt I modified slightly for my DW. It's mostly adding a DW helmet & shoulder pad. I did NOT paint this. I like that you're adding this disclaimer to your posts/pics, but honestly it isn't necessary. With the amount of commissioning done throughout the community this is just a fair expectation, and you should still be proud of your conversions in either case. All that said, it's a lovely use of an already attractive model :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/349268-primaris-conversions/#findComment-5135749 Share on other sites

The base is probably my favorite part about that b/c it was from a "Tau" model (The Greater Good). Aramis K
Heads and shoulders are swappable. I'd say arms are not, the Primaris arms are longer and normal marine arms look wrong. However the hands match, so I've been swapping in weapons with hands onto Primaris arms. seriade
If you have a few normal marine kill teams your going to have a ton of extra shoulder pads with chapter icons. I would recommend getting a blood angel intercessor squad to start the conversion off as you get chain swords(mostly because they are free you could do dark angels if you want power swords) to represent the sergeants and just apply a deathwatch conversion sprue to do the left shoulder pads with the deathwatch ones. azn.gamer
Here's another example of a DW Primaris, Intercessors are easy to modify, but Reiver arms require a LOT of grinding & sanding. I don't like how Reivers look and wanted a model that still looked like it has the mobility. He'll eventually have a combat knife, but waiting for bits to arrive. I plan for him to be a Reiver Sgt with the appropriate wargear options.
