Im having a crisis guys. I think the reason for my stalled projects of late is....I don’t like the primaris. I don’t feel them or the fluff.

 

Simply I don’t want to paint them because there’s no history in which I can live with them in my mind while I paint.

 

I’m going back to the old range. It hurts me, to be honest, because I’ve put a lot of time and money on the primaris.

 

I think this is the reason why I have looked towards 30k of late.

 

I’m going to be building an raven guard army which will be usable both in a 30k and 40k-setting.

 

I now believe the step towards primaris was a bad step done by GW.

The Mk 3 and 4 kits are great fun but those rivets everywhere drive me mad when painting. Mk 3 especially..

 

The dusty bases looks great and the weathering effect is well applied to their power armour and the boarding shield.

Not exclusively Raven Guard, sorry for that!

 

First the latest addition; 3 seekers/veterans, soon to be joined by 7 more.

 

Then some groupshots of the Army so far. My vision was always a shattered legion-force but since i havent found a way to paint salamanders (after sooo many tries) it will only be Iron hands and raven Guard for now.

 

Each part will be a ~1500 p Zone mortalis force and together a much larger (obviosly) shattered legion after Isstvan-force. Raven Guard will be joined by droppods and rhinos. Iron hands by land raiders and a spartan.

Especially because the Iron Hands are dirty <I don't want to get banned> sons of the <still don't want to be banned> Medusa and willingly used the Raven Guard as bait against a horde of orks. There is a very special place in my heart for hating Iron Hands and all that the cowards stand for.

But shadrak meduson is a pretty decent guy! Hes leading this force after Isstvan-massacre.

 

I just wish nykona sharrowkyn got rules. He may be the coolest guy in the entire setting.

 

Have you guys read ”shattered legion”? Great book where iron hands and raven Guard get along as brothers. Its Autek Mor whos the bad Iron hand that hates everything.

Shattered Legion was great. The entire concept of multiple broken legions banding together for vengeance...so epic!

Yes its a great book, one of the best in my opinion. In fact, that was the book that brought me to 30k, to Build a force like that. Im soon there. Almost done with the raven Guard and Iron hands, started the salamanders this night.
