Orwell84
https://www.facebook.com/theblacklibrary/videos/10155774136257957/ Just watched this and thought I'd share for anybody else who's interested. Makes me all the more eager for the book when it's released tomorrow evening! French gives a nice summary about the motives of the traitor primarchs and their legions, and how they've changed in the course of the war. For example, Perturabo has been hoping that things would change for him and the IV, that they'd no longer be forced to deal with everybody else's too-hard basket. Horus himself is literally being pulled apart by the combined power of the four gods he's ingested, and is faced with the realisation that this rebellion isn't quite turning out how he'd planned it (like, say, the empire he helped build being reduced to ashes everywhere). Sandlemad
Good interview and good preview of Slaves to Darkness. I like the idea of Horus and the other primarchs having to face up to the fact that they are no longer fighting the same war they started on Istvaan, Interesting to note that Fulgrim is now hanging out in the EoT. I guess that means both him and Kor Phaeron sort of got there early to avoid the rush. b1soul
Hope Perturabo gets some compelling development. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/349329-black-library-live-interview-with-john-french/#findComment-5137218 Share on other sites
Taliesin
The interview with Haley and Abnett is excellent as well. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/349329-black-library-live-interview-with-john-french/#findComment-5141836 Share on other sites
DukeLeto69
Interview with Abnett made me very happy. While he didn't actually say anything new he did confirm and reiterate a few things that make me a happy guy... 1. Anarch will not be the last GG book as he has an idea for at least one more arc. 2. Despite that Anarch does have something big that kind of acts as a climax for GG (I get the impression that if he stopped it would be a satisfying end to GG). 3. The Victory arc does not necessarily mean Imperials getting the victory. He implied it could be other way around! (have always thought Abnett was playing with expectations by calling this The Victory arc...I think he will subvert expectations further than just chaos wins, there is more to this "victory" than meets the eye). 4. Writing The Magos has really excited and inspired Abnett to finally get back and write Penitent and Pandaemonium and he has pushed those up his schedule. 5. However, before he can write those he is committed to writing his instalment (didn't say whether he had one or more books) for the Siege of Terra to finish off HH. No indication of whether he or anyone else has nabbed the last book though lol Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/349329-black-library-live-interview-with-john-french/#findComment-5142227 Share on other sites
Taliesin
Definitely interesting to see that he is now starting the Siege of Terra book and that Penitent is next on the docket. Those are his two works I am most interested in myself. Marshal Rohr
Falkus Kibre’s name is definitely cooler when pronounced by English people. A D-B
Falkus Kibre’s name is definitely cooler when pronounced by English people. I say Fawl-kuss KY-ber. I don't know if that's good or bad. How about you? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/349329-black-library-live-interview-with-john-french/#findComment-5144639 Share on other sites

Marshal Rohr
I was saying it with the American nasal ‘A’ and brief vowel for the first name, and I don’t even know what I was doing for the last name. When Horus Rising came out I hadn’t been outside the country yet, and so I was kind of flying by the seat of my pants. Faahl-kis Kihb-ray was how I was pronouncing it, but the new way is much better. I liked John’s Ky-bear pronounciation because it sounded like a Bond villain, but Ky-ber sounds more natural with the Cthonian words you guys have made and used before too.
