ierthling
Ok so individual Warlocks I get - a cheap HQ with access to a great set of powers, and they basically get bonus powers since their runes each have a buff / debuff version. Makes perfect sense. What about that Conclave tho? You've gotta take 4 to start unlocking bonuses, at which point you're paying 180pts for what seems to me like a unit that is not really better than a 110 pt Farseer. Do people run Conclaves? Can you talk me into a big Conclave? Is there any reason at all to take a Conclave of fewer than 4 Warlocks? I have 5 (picked them up cheap as a lot), and they seem very cool, but I'm just a little puzzled about them strategically. Thanks! Slasher956
To confuse your opponent? Take two mini conclaves (2 each)*. Then take a bone singer as an elite, The bonesinger is the only character in your army, so you make her your warlord and hide her behind a wraithlord (who she heals every turn) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/349549-to-conclave-or-not-to-conclave/#findComment-5149024 Share on other sites
Szadek_117
They are only usefull if you need to cast some particular spell with 36" range ( thanks to concordance of power stratagem) otherwise are pretty useless in my opinion . Maybe they will be useful in a skyrunner unit , they can be placed in deep strike , enter the battlefield , cast themselves quicken , move towards an enemy and charge in the same turn without any risk , but that unit will be overcosted as :cuss Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/349549-to-conclave-or-not-to-conclave/#findComment-5159530 Share on other sites
ierthling
Thanks guys. I tried a two-man conclave in a Wave Serpent with some Wraithguard, but sadly one of them died when a daemon prince blew the WS up, so still haven't really gotten to try the conclave! Does seem like an individual Warlock is better, despite the points difference and the stratagem, but I'll keep testing... Szadek_117
All the warlock stragegms work on both Nope , Concordance power is the only one that needs to be a warlock conclave unit Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/349549-to-conclave-or-not-to-conclave/#findComment-5160741 Share on other sites

sultansean
I've been going with the warlock on bike. The extra wound makes perils and snipers not so dangerous and I can normally just move him to where he is in range with his power. Does mean that he has been left hanging out on his own in a couple games and gotten killed. I rolled very well on saves and an opponent had to put two riptides into him which was funny to see.
