Jimbo13's Golden Boys-IF project log

Hello Ladies and Gentleman,

I've been running silent for a long time now. I figure now was as good a time as any to start posting again. Some of you may be familiar with my prior Imperial Fists Project, The Red Devils. This is a more traditional log, and the force I'm building and painting for an escalation league.

I like to do the viva metallica style Imperial Fist scheme. The most soul crushing and beautiful to me, I always envisioned them as more gold than yellow anyway. Bear with me as I chug along especially because I build a hell of a lot faster than I paint, and even starting to get into the dreaded green stuff.

As of right now my army is a Pride of the Legion list.

Praetor (stand in until I finish my ideal praetor)

Veteran Squad

Tartaros Terminator Squad

Spartan

Recon Squad

Tactical Support Squad (Volkite Calivers)

Heavy Support Squad (Volkite Culverin)

Heavy Support Squad (Lascannons)

Legion Dreadnought Talon (2 of 3 Built Currently)

More to come...

First off I apologize for the awful lighting... My light box is mediocre at best and I'm trying to find a reliable way to diffuse the light a wee bit.

My stand in Praetor-

This was quite the endeavor and many a model got butchered for this. I did try to keep the most notable pieces from the Sigismund forgeworld model involved. So the tally; Loken, Sigismund, and an Emperor's Champion. Green Stuffed the bottom of the tabard as well. My biggest gripe with the original model were the terrible legs(in my opinion.

Hopefully y'all enjoy the images.

I really like the Sigismund rework, the pose and angle of the head are just right. Always nice to see regular dreads, though I feel the head on the more ornate one is a little too large and prominent. The Praetor is simple but effective and the wicked looking knife in the veteran squad is an interesting touch that stands out against what one would normally think of the Fists, I like it!

A better Sigismund than the FW model and a great start!

Thank you sir. Love your work very much. I thought maybe once I saw Sig in person I'd like the model more but my hatred grew... His torso is so freaking thicc

Thanks dude, that wicker knife is actually from a chaos kit. I wanted to make the vox-man look savage, along the lines of I'm getting that message out even if I have to gut five of you like pigs. I figure veterans have some leeway with gear choices plus some artistic license sprinkled in.

Looking good :smile.: I like the idea of metallic Imperial Fists - see if you can dig up the thread corai made a while back!

I know the exact thread which you are referring to. His always gets a certain gold luster that I envy. You will see some fisting shields later on in this thread as well as some warders too.

Progress on my real Praetor. I try to custom make all my hq's for the most part, I like to build them from the ground up. Strong foundatons

I haven't decided yet on how to equip him beside a combi-melta. I kinda want to have a boarding shield strapped to his back as well, especially because he will be deployed with a 20-man squad of Phalanx Warders.

Then some stuff in the building que...... Perhaps some recon marines and another heavy support squad..... who can tell.
