The Different Legions and HQ's - A discussion

For IW I usually run in fact a DP with wings for Aura, Prescience for havocs and CC threat bubble if sth flies by. But I'd consider a low equipment lord and sorcerer for points efficiency. You get more spells but unless you gear up (which costs you the point advantage) you lose on the threat bubble.

How would you arm an Iron Warrior TDA lord dropping in with Slaaneshi IW Obliterators?

Well, something to take care of what the oblits can't. Combi-melta and fist?

I’m tempted to go with the combi-plasma rather than melta, if only because he’ll be dropping within Rapid Fire range, but not half-melta range.

With a Chainfist 14pts now (Chap.App 2017) it looks worth it over the Fist...?

I agree on the plasma but I tend to think I'm better off having the Lord hitting on 2+ and getting extra attacks on 6s against Imperials with a power weapon and using the spare points for other units. The melee weapon is somewhat secondary to his buffing role and the odds of assaulting the turn he arrives from 9+ inches are low, so he may not get to use the melee weapon before he takes return fire.

I've seen some folks have success with a dual Lightning Claw Terminator Lord dropping in with Oblits. He lays down buffs, acts as a charge deterrent and then splits off and goes nuts if a juicy target presents itself.

Back on topic, aside from a Daemon Prince, I like a Dark Apostle for my World Eaters with the Brass Collar.

With all the attacks Berzerkers kick out, the re roll adds a lot - I've had a squad land more hits than the attacks they started with thanks to this aura and Death to the False Emperor. Plus, he's relatively cheap and durable.

The Collar helps make up for lack of psychic defense and, since he goes forward with the Berzerkers, he's usually in range to use it for most of the game.
