Arentius
Heya Guys, I'm hoping somebody will be able to help me out here. I've got a sprue leftover from my grey hunters I'm not using and a million bits and pieces of SW paraphernalia and would like to make a guy specifically wearing "the armour of Russ" however with this being such an important relic and my greenstuff skills being non existent can anyone recommend or suggest ways to make him suitably epic? I already know he's getting a hammer and a shield with jump pack (I have leftover shields from my wulfen to make it stand out a bit) but it's mostly the armour itself I'm concerned about...I don't want him to look like just another marine. Thanks in advance for any ideas you can bounce my way! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/349728-how-to-model-armour-of-russ/ Share on other sites
Nrthstar
Since the armor can be anything, tda, power armor, primaris armor, it's really up to you. If I was doing power armor though, I would pickup scibor pieces, or use the FW MK III power armor chest pieces. Russ's armor had that blocky plate look Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/349728-how-to-model-armour-of-russ/#findComment-5149643 Share on other sites
The Saint Ragnar
I find that Krom Dragongaze works as a good base for any standout model. The pose is so good and the armor quite unique. You could easily mix the top or bottom with other pieces to make that unique look Edit: Careful cutting or clipping can remove the cape and leave the wolf pelt for flair Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/349728-how-to-model-armour-of-russ/#findComment-5149648 Share on other sites
Arentius
Thank you both! Never thought to bash Krom but i do also like the blocky aspect of the MKIII ...might have to combine both of these together! Jackalwolf
Varagyr Legs, FW Khârn torso, Geigor shoulder pads, Grey Slayer arms and shield, mkii jump pack. That would look epic. That would also look like a mini version of FW Russ model. Guest
Since there is no dedicated model, just use whatever you like. I love the Geigor model, so I wanted to use his armor. Then got it fitted onto a Primaris body. Jackalwolf
That looks kickass! These shins fit great with Primaris.... Might have to buy 15 Geigor... Ratherdashing
I wonder if there's a way, without looking silly, to model on a scrap of armor that would actually be Primarch-sized. Like a single giant pauldron. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/349728-how-to-model-armour-of-russ/#findComment-5150026 Share on other sites
