Knights and Deathwatch

So recently I've been running a Knight Gallant with my Deathwatch it's been quite successfull, either by tapdancing all over the enemy or drawing tons of fire and blowing up spectacularly. I'm now considering expanding the Knight contingent and adding two Helverins for some long range dakka, access to household traits and 3 extra CP. The rest of the list would probably be a deep strike heavy battalion with SB Vets and a Hellblaster Fortis team.

Does anyone have experience using Helverins/Knights with DW? Would love some input before I pull the trigger on the Helverins.

Same thoughts here....I’m finishing to paint my castellan.

So if I take my two helverins it is 604+174+174 pts....it is remaining just enough to field a couple of HQs and three 10 man kill teams

In my case a castellan is perhaps a good enough LR heavy fire platform, and instead of helverins taking an admech battalion would be better (backfield coverage, repairs and sniping) 5cps....so a total of 13, spending 2 for the castellan warlord trait and relic....11 to play... with which is not too bad.

My list has 1056pts dedicated to the DW, 604 for the knight, rest for the admech

Dw deepstriking turn 2 and landing about 120 SIA shots with rerolls, the castellan getting rid of 2/3 tanks per turn....brutal

Admech Transuranic snipers killing a character each turn (potentially), and the rest of the skitarii covering the knight to prevent early unwanted charges.

What do you think?

I think your plan of just taking the Castellan sounds good, it provides so much firepower on its own and doesn't really need the Household bonuses. An Admech battalion probably gives more benefits (extra CP, screening, objective holding, maybe some anti-tank if you can squeeze it in) anyways.

Sounds like a pretty brutal list, be sure to update with how it performs!
