sturguard
Hey folks, So I posted this in the Heresy Tactica but players dont look in that forum very often, hence I am posting it here as well to get your insights. hey guys, I am modelling and painting up my last space wolf unit. I use my army as both 30 and 40k, so I like them to have options I can use in both systems. So I already have 2 standard 40k Grey Hunter squads which I can combine into a 15-20 man Grey Slayer Unit. I was going to glue some of the thunderwolf shields on a few guys to represent combat shields. Anyways, I have 20 MKIII guys. Thus far I have 10 that are modeled with bolter (could be plasmagun, meltagun) and 5 that have axe and shield (fw kit), so how do I model the other 5? More bolters? How many shields do you guys typically use in a squad? I forgot the other options that grey slayers can take, but if someone who plays can give me an idea on how they would equip a 20 man squad, that would be great. Thanks! Nadir
There are no grey slayers in 40k, so no combat shields, one special weapon for 5 models and only 1 HtH special weapon per squad. Plasma guns are most preferable now. All of them can have chainswords for free (and pistol and bolter are standard wargear) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/349971-how-to-equip-a-grey-slayergrey-hunter-pack/#findComment-5157383 Share on other sites
sturguard
Nadir, Understood, I was thinking more along the lines of the shields would be ignored for 40k purposes. Ie lets say I do 20 Grey Slayers, 5 with shields, I could have 2x10 grey hunters with one squad having 2 and the other having 3 but I would think most players could just ignore the shields and see they have close combat weapons (axes) and just represent regular joes. Wispy
Grey Huntes dont use shileds but Wolf Guard do. Both red/black and yellow/black pack markings are used by Greyslayers. Give the shielded ones yellow+black so they can be Wplf Guard in 40k and the bolter+ccw ones red+black so they can be hunters in 40k.
