jerrys
If you have a helfrost (or helfrost-ish) weapon (helfrost cannon, harald's axe, etc), and make multiple attacks, and cause multiple wounds ... when do you roll the die for the additional mortal wound? is that after each attack or each wound, such that you could cause multiple mortal wounds? Or is it at the end, after all of your attacks, so you can cause at most one mortal wound? The wording seems ambiguous, but i guess there should be some kind of consensus by now? Thanks for your help. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/349993-how-many-mortal-wounds-can-helfrost-cause/ Share on other sites
greysquigg
I'm pretty sure it's just the one mortal would per weapon. Where it says " If this weapon caused any wounds" it doesn't say "roll a dice for each wound inflicted". Thanks for your help. I'd like to know this aswell. The wording isn't super clear to me, sometimes I read it as every woud triggers it. other times I read it as if the weapon causes a wound, it has a chance to deal 1 mortal wound regardless of the number of wounds this weapon caused Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/349993-how-many-mortal-wounds-can-helfrost-cause/#findComment-5157954 Share on other sites
Gherrick
Sadly, I see little confusion in the text. You get at most a single extra mortal wound, and only if the model is wounded and not slain, and only if you roll 6 on new die roll. Even the frostfury relic only improves it to a 4+...I really wish they would make it at least somewhat useful vs single wound per model units. M.Redbeard
While it is obstuselt worded the meaning is a single mortal wound of the target is not slain amd you roll amd extra 6. Really one of the worst outputs for mortal wounds in the game. A single mortal wound after having to fail the safe on a 6+ is next to useless. PeteySödes
Yea I was so sad, when frostfury got preview I had hoped it was all 4+. Would have been pretty decent then. Currently it’s useless. M.Redbeard
Indeed. With Frostfury being said to have the "hellfrost" rule in the preview I was glad to see if it would go off on a 4+. It still wasn't super useful, but hell maybe sometimes it would go off and do somwthing great (and it would be a funny moment to spend a reroll to get it to kill something big and cool). Right now I never bring it, or if I do it is to add 3 point over the Assault Cannon and not feeling like making a very good list.
