sgt_shultz
Hi everybody, been lurking for ages but only recently managed to really get started into the hobby. Thought I'd share my progress so far, see what uou guys think. Maybe make a plog of sorts out of it, can't say for sure. Anywho, here goes: I've only got some vague ideas for the background for these guys, they were initially inspired by the Savlar chem dog in the codex, but have morphed enough that I'm starting to work out some custom lore in my head, whicj is aready suggesting some allies (my wallet's suicide note is coming along nicely I hear). They'll be the 161st combined arms regiment from the planet Fiori, system/segmentum unkown, which in my headcanon has a tone not unlike pre-Kurze Nostromo, Kowloon walled city and the industrial/forge world aspects of Armageddon all mixed together. So they'll have some nice, sometimes unusual tanks, backed up by very rag-tag, vicious infantry pressed into service from necromunda-like gangs and such. Here,s what I've got so far... https://i.imgur.com/bJKoVmB.jpg My fist minis ever :D I made these guys mostly as sort of a trial run, both to see how I felt about the color scheme and to see if I could make the various parts play nice. Super happy with how they came together, even if I'm not much of a painter (yet) https://i.imgur.com/8VqyocO.jpg My first tank. Not much to say here really, just have the basic camo colors blocked in and I'm pretty happy with it so far. Think I'll name it "The Mad Cobbler". https://i.imgur.com/dDMvbob.jpg Super stoked at how this one's turning out. My first senior officer and my first use of putty to hide a seam, he really shows how kitbashed all my standard squaddies are going to be. Currently buildi g my infantry out of 4 different kits, with a self-imposed rule that I will never build any of them entirely from the same box. My heart belongs to the guard, but I'm pretty sure I've got an ork players mind when it comes to kitbashing lol Anywho, that's about all for now, any feedback/advice/ideas would be greatly appreciated, I'll post some pics of my super irregular regulars if anyone wants. In the meantime take it easy and thanks for dropping by! Pearson73
These are looking really good, especially for your first foray into the hobby. The mix of parts makes them nice and unique and the colour scheme works well.
