seriade
How do you setup your squads when you plan to go full stormbolter. I was looking at going 7 stormboters 2 shields, 2 fragcannons and a vv but that seems to paint a bullseye on the unit. What setups have you used that have worked? Private Jenkins
I tend to go for 4 SB CS, 4 SB SS, Termie with something cheap, and VV with 2 CS. Teleportarium or Beacon Angelis to where needed. 36 SB shots, normally rerolling ones due to the DW Smash Captain with Banebolts next to them. A couple of these squads- at 238-255 points each- can really clear chaff, plink wounds off vehicles, or do almost anything at a pinch, even throw down a bunch of CC attacks if necessary. Reviler
I use 10 SB, 6 chainsword, 2 TH and 2 SS. Hammers on sergeant and black shield to leverage the 3 attacks Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/350066-stormbolter-squad-setup/#findComment-5160095 Share on other sites
MadEdric
I’ve had some good results with a 10man squad. Sgt and Blackshield have SB and power swords, terminator with SB and power sword, VV with SS and pistol, 2 vets with SB and SS, 2 vets with SB and chainsword, and 1or 2 vets with frag cannon. 28 SIA shots at close range, 2 or 4 fragcannon shells, and the VV using tempest shells with his pistol. anarchistscourge
You wouldn’t be able to use tempest shells on the VV. when firing weapons you can’t fire pistols with rapid fire / heavy / assault weapons. It’s why I always give my VV only combat weapons Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/350066-stormbolter-squad-setup/#findComment-5160181 Share on other sites

Lemondish
I've had really good experiences with 4 SB/CS, 2 SB/SS, 2 FC, a Termie, and a VV with 2 CS. justicarius6
My beefiest squad has 3 Vets w. SB and SS, Sarge and Blackshield w. SB a SS, 4 Frag Cannons and a VV with whatever sprinkling of close-combat weapons I fancy (VV is always the grenadier in the squad when up close). Does some extreme damage no matter where I place it and the 5 shields keep the cannons well protected.
