After reading the "Your Anthems for your Company, your wolves" thread, I wondered what songs other players find appropriate for Adepta Sororitas armies.

As an anime fan, I favor anime opening and ending performances. Two obvious choices are "

", from Sailor Moon, and "
", from Puella Magi Madoka Magica- after all, faith in the God-Emperor allows Sisters to become de facto Magical Girls, and prayer the power to overcome the foulest of sorceries.

"

" and "
", from Youjo Senki (licensed in the US as The Saga of Tanya the Evil), work great as war songs- appropriate, as the anime is set in wartime. (Just think of Tanya as an Inquisitor and a Sanctioned Psyker- not even a Radical, as she always obeys the Letter of the Law, while tearing its Spirit to pieces).

"

", from Overlord, is great if you must declare to everyone how obsessively devoted you are to the undying (undead) God-Emperor. (MYTH & ROID has great songs for expressing passion and obsession, don't they?) Edited by Bjorn Firewalker

I like anime too, but still I tend to like my 40k with a side of heavy metal (very mature of me, I know :P )

So I like Between the Hammer and the Anvil by Judas Priest, Amon other songs :D

In the "Your Anthems for your Companies, your wolves" thread, sbarnby71 suggested "Barbie Girl", by Aqua, as a way of trolling opponents. I think the song can work, if we rewrite the lyrics.

I'm the Emp'ror's girl, in the Emp'ror's world,

In ceramite, it's a delight,

Tattoo fleurs-de-lis, anywhere you please,

Now close up your mind, to guard it from all kinds,

"Come on, Sister, purge resisters!"

There is a song that uses voice clips from Dawn of War by HMKids (I think that is the right name?) that I thought was put together pretty well.

Also... you can't go wrong with Judas Priest. I saw them with Saxon when they were in Portland a while back, it was a killer show!

I tend to like my 40k with a side of punk rather than metal. Bratmobile's cover of "Where Eagles Dare" might be a good call. And I can't think of anything off the top of my head, but X or the Plasmatics could probably be mined for some good battle music for the Sisters.

Bubblegum Crisis and its remake, Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2040, have appropriate songs for sending your hardsuit (power armor) clad Sisters in battle against the boomers (Necrons), to avenge Sanctuary 101's desecration. As older series, the soundtrack may be hard to find, but I dare you to say, "'

' is unworthy of a Sister's lips!" in front of Priss Asagiri.

I'll summon the Apothecaries to help you remove your head from your large intestine, after Sister Priscilla leaves (so she won't feel the need to shove my own head up You Know Where).

Any RWBY fans think "
" is useful for more than simply providing titles for great crossover fanfics? How about singing "
" to demoralize the enemy, or "
" to pump up your own troops?

1d4chan has suggested "

", by Lady Gaga (retitled "Purging Face", and likely requiring rewritten lyrics). Are any other Lady Gaga songs appropriate? Maybe "
", or "
"? Maybe "
" or "
", after the songs are retitled "Imperator", and the lyrics rewritten?

I'm your most devout,

I'll battle to prove my love's all yours!

Imper-Imperator!

Above my head, I'll recognize no other Lords,

I know that you are-

My Imper-Imperator!

I swear upon my head,

I will fight for you until I'm dead!

?

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord

He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword
His truth is marching on

Glory, Glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!

His truth is marching on

I have seen Him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps
They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps
I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps
His day is marching on.

Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
His day is marching on

I have read a fiery gospel writ in burnished rows of steel
"As ye deal with my contemners, so with you my grace shall deal"
Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with his heel
Since God is marching on

Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Since God is marching on

He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat
He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment-seat
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! Be jubilant, my feet!
Our God is marching on

Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Our God is marching on

In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea
With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me
As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free
While God is marching on

Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
While God is marching on

I just watched 'Deadpool 2', whose soundtrack features "Ashes", by Céline Dion. The song's perfect. (Just think of the protagonist as a Eversor Assassin who needs more sleep. He tries to overdose on cocaine in-film, anyways.)

Let beauty come out of ashes,

Let beauty come out of ashes.

And when I pray to God all I ask is,

Can beauty come out of ashes?

Feel free to sing this as your flamer and melta reduce your opponent to, well, ashes, while your bolter scatters their remains into the wind. Edited by Bjorn Firewalker

I rather like O Fortuna by Carl Orff, and Bad Reputation by  Joan Jett.  And of course, the organ solo from In a Gadda da Vida by Iron Butterfly was always great when my Exorcists were cleansing heretics of their sins in the last editions.   And if you really want to go obscure, Fire by The Crazy World of Arthur Brown.  Might have to be rewritten some, as it starts with "I am the god of hellfire, and I bring you FIRE."   But at least the chorus says, "You're gonna burn!"

Good choices!

How about "I serve the God of holy fire"?
