How many armies does the average b&c frater have?

I've got a big imperial fist force.

Imperial knights, imperial guard, ad mech, fledgling sisters waiting for plastics.

A necron army. Still a couple of bits to paint for them.

A few bits and bobs like or is that have come from various box sets.

- 30k alpha legion army around 3.5k points

- a tackle box of space marines + bitz noone wants to buy that I'll build as Angels Vermillion or another Blood Angels successor.

- Dark Eldar (ooooooooooooold 3rd edition minis that I can't bare to part with but won't likely ever use on the table again)

- bibs and bobs of genestealer cults, mechanicum and astra militarum for use in kill team, and maybe someday, a third 40k army.

- also have about 3k of chaos dwarfs for AoS unassembled waiting for their time to shine.

I think we may need to start a support group here! Blimey all of us do have a few bits, some more than others. Great stuff.

This is our thread for Armies Anonymous. I already feel a bit better knowing I'm not the only one with over 10 armies :biggrin.:

Currently I have:

40K Death Guard - Around 10,000 points

Nurgle Daemons - Around 5,000 points (round about, never added it all up)

Chaos Knight Army - No clue on points, guesstimate is 3,000 but it keeps growing

Blood Axe Orks - Most of the army was sold off but I still have around 1500 points and intend on rebuilding with just Kromlech

30K Death Guard - A lot... I haven't used it in years, though :unsure.:

30K Word Bearers - Also a lot... massive amount of Troops. Same as above, haven't used it in quite some time

That doesn't even take into account various partial armies lying around in shambles (Renegade Militia), Kill Team, or INQ28 stuff I've thrown together. I have way too much stuff.

As long as nobody goes go to any meetings it should be ok...

Let me see... I have:

Orks (playable and fully painted, at least until Orktober rolls around!)

Space Marines (in the midst of repainting, but otherwise playable)

Imperial Knights (WIP)

Ad Mech (WIP)

Necrons (very much a WIP)

Imperial Guard (planned; though this is a weird one - aiming to build up a force of Chapter Serfs for my Marines)

Imperial Agents (another weird one - I have a collection of assassins, and I'm thinking about a little Inquisition force of some sort)

So... 5 (with plans for 2 more)

And no, I have no idea how much that is in points. I don't want to think about it for the Orks or the Space Marines...

I have only two armies.

Ultramarines

Well, I got pretty much every SM unit 2 or 3 times, all HQs that are available, transports, 6 Landraiders :o , bucket load of Dreadnoughts - I would guess it is more than 10k points (got a Fellblade & Mastodon) probably more like 20k (I really have no idea how much it is points wise) a lot of FW stuff and more tacticals 2 companies would need. :D

Second army is Imperial Knights.

6 Questoris, 4 Warglaives, 2 Helverins & 6 FW knights because I just like the look of them.

I bought a Warhound recently - not sure if it qualifies for an army on it's own though. :D

We will be moving into our own house in January so there will be more space! ;)

A Warhound is 2000 points, so you could field it as it's own army in a standard game!

Seeing all of you makes me feel either 1) better that I my plastic crack addiction isn't as bad or 2) I have some serious catching up to do!

Playable:

~1250 points of Raven Guard that's fully painted and based (I could get to 2k but then there's a lot of gray plastic blu-taced together)

WIP:

Spectral Sicarii Kill Team (Primaris, homebrew KT that I'm considering expanding to a 40k army)

Grey Knight Kill Team

Boxed up but one day:

Admech Kill Team

Knight Army (Have the Renegade box and the Armigers from Forgebane)

Specialists:

Betrayal at Calth - Slowly painting up the WB and UM. It's a fun game and I want to play it painted.

I currently have two (Dark Angels and Orks), but at one point in time I had five. I barely have time for one so five was really too much. I still regret selling the Space Wolves and the Imperial Guard though... :unsure.:

I've got too many. I have;

Craftworld Eldar

Harlequins

Blood Angels

Dark Angels

Imperial Fists

Primaris Minotaurs

Deathwatch

Grey Knights

Custodes

Sisters of Battle

Imperial Guard

Imperial Knights

Adeptus Mechanicus

All of these are over 2000 points. I also have some smaller stuff like Legion of the Damned, Sisters of Silence, Tyranids, Gene Stealer Cult and assassins. Eldar are by far my biggest army with somewhere around 15k points.

In the future, I'd like to finish my Nids and GSC, then probably do Orks and possibly Tau or Necrons.

I'm the outlier here, then!

I have ONE.

Tallying it up for 8th edition, but somewhere between 6-8000 points of my DiY chapter. Got into the hobby aged 15 in 2005, & it's been a long, slow grow building towards viable armies in each edition since 4th.

I went towards a full Steel Rain force between 5th & 7th, scraping together the cash to buy a new drop pod every few months.

You can imagine how upset I was when 8th landed - kicked the core of my forces in the teeth.

I've got the following  -

5000 points of Raven Guard Successors

5000 points of Dark Angels

3500 points of Death Guard

2000 points of Thousand Sons

2500 points of Blood Angels

3000 points of Adeptus Custodes

2500 points of Imperial Knights

Edit - About 2000 points of Ad Mech yet to be built

...and now i've written it out it's a little terrifying.

I have Dark Imperium and some Primaris all primed since I can't decide on a paint scheme and play style I like more than others.

My goal is to own each Imperium army one day.

I've been looking at building some Custodes myself....as well as some Sisters of Silence, though the latter REALLY needs some proper love since they have basically one unit with two different wargear loadouts (swords or guns).

Custodes and Guard are definitely next on my list. At least the paint schemes for those aren't difficult to decide on.

I've been looking at doing both in a Solar Watch style color scheme. I love me some bright colors with some pop, but I've found pure gold was too boring to paint for me.

Custodes are on my list - unfortunately it also includes more scions to form a separate storm trooper air cav section for my guard and innumerable other things. Sisters are going to stretch me - plastic greatcoat guard will finish me off! I've got two squads of silent sisters so far but I don't find them easy to paint but I agree a filling out of their range would be great.

My imperial fists are three companies plus vehicles which I reset with primaris but now I'm well over half a company of those guys - now I've signed up to conquest it will be a flat company before long!

Heretic Astartes (2k+ of Alpha Legion, a Death Guard killteam, some renegade stuff, 2x Scorpius tanks, 1x Xiphon interceptor)

Astra Militarum (2k+ including 6 full infantry squads, 4 LR tanks, and a 3d printed Shadow Sword)

Dark Eldar (2k points)

Blood Angels (About 30 infantry in various stages of completion)

  • 3 weeks later...

I used to have a lot of armies. Necron, Dark Eldar, Tyranids, Orks, Black Templar, Chaos Space Marines. I've sold off everything except for Chaos, but also started up Death Guard at the beginning of 8th.

I've also got Elves and Seraphon for AoS, and Imperial and Rebel armies for Star Wars Legion.

Despite all this I probably only game less than 10 times a year these days.
