librisrouge
I'm wondering if anybody has any experience using the Euclidean Starstriders in 40k yet. 125 seems fairly worth it for what they bring and I'd be willing to spend 1 CP to deep strike them in support of my knight armies. They'd be good at opening a new flank or claiming an objective away from the fighting. I'd love to hear others' ideas. Heliomanes
I'm not sure about the wording. "Rogue trader retinue" states that all the models have to be deployed close to and after the Rogue Trader herself, while the stratagem costs 1 command point to deploy a unit. Do you have to pay for every unit? If so, then they aren't worth it. If, on the other hand, you can pay 1 cp to deploy the whole gang, then I really like them as a small objective grabber squad with a lot of flavor and cool factor. librisrouge
The wording says to setup "...all Euclidean Starstrider units..." so I'm 100% sure that it is 1 CP for the whole faction. That does mean, however, that it is all or nothing. Heliomanes
You are absolutely right. Genuinely appreciated, sir.I think you can make a good case for a patrol detachment using Vhane and Nitch's squad as deep striking objective grabbers. That will unlock the stratagems, and only cost 81 points. Inquisitor Red
I've played a few games with them so far, and they didn't blow the doors of anyone. I just deep striked them down on an objective and shot anything that got close. I also deep struck them down all in one blob so I'm not sure if splitting them up would be a better tactic. I've also only played against t4+ armies with these guys so I'm sure they'd do better vs other t3 armies. Cons: Pretty squishy, and not much range. Longest range guns are your Lasguns, and Cannon from Nitch's squad. Besides that everyone else has a 12in or shorter pistol. Pros: With so many characters you have a lot of flexibility on who gets targeted first, etc. The Rouge Trader Vane is pretty sick, she can hold her own in CC, and her pistol can do some work. Rules not withstanding, they're super fun to paint, and really quick to assemble. They look really sharp and contrast well to any other imperium army you'll end up allying them with. The squad leader is a unique dude and they’re his chosen squad.
