MaliGn
Hi, anyone got any tips or tutorials for achieving realistic blood splatter effects when painting terrain? I've been thinking of using a narrow straw and blowing blood for the blood God at the relevant location to simulate gun shot blood splatter but am open to other suggestions. Carlson793
Are you wanting it fresh (gloss paint) or blood that's been there at least a few minutes (matte paint)? Use a dark red/brown - Blood For The Blood God might be a bit light for realistic blood. Think about the last time you had blood drawn for the doctor, and how dark it is going into the vial.Generally, you want something that sprays small flecks. Straw is going to give you big blobs, no matter how much you try to get out of it before applying. Use an old toothbrush (preferably) or a wide flat brush instead. Thin your paint a lot (usually 'thin milk' consistency should do). You'll be flicking/dragging your thumb across the paint-loaded brush, so you may want to wear gloves. Dip the tip of the tooth brush in the paint, do a couple practice flicks with your thumb on a piece of towel (so your not applying it too heavy), then apply to your model/terrain. You can use this site for reference. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/350485-blood-splatter-for-terrain/#findComment-5171058 Share on other sites
