Warhound Titan - best release so far?

I think so.

Not too controversial I hope but let me elaborate first.

The boxed set is affordable so that's an obvious win.

But the real reason is the weapons! ALL the options! That makes me hungry for the upgrades packs but right now the Warhounds are the best choice simply because I can take the weapons I want and mix it up as I see fit.

Great release and sure to make Audax fans happy (I know you're out there!).

Lastly, with this release the game becomes much more tactical. Your heavy Titans can't just advance and trade blows any more. There's a pack of wolves flanking you who will make short work of even a Warlord if they stay behind it!

Very happy with this release.

And, rumor has it, that the Ursus Claw will become available by FW at some point... More happiness for the Audax crowd!

I totally agree with you Idaho, I have already pre-ordered two boxes and am planning for a Venator Light Maniple...

I was considering magnetizing these (cutting A18 in half and green stuffing a magnet in the upper hole, using the two halves as bottoms), but then decided, why bother? I don't think that these guys are quite expensive enough to demand it, and I find myself annoyed by the slight differences in the model where i magnetized the Reaver, so look foward to not having to deal with loosing parts etc. on these guys.

I did magnetize with 5x1mm disc magnets in the arm weapon holes. They even have a rim to facilitate this, and it is enough to use them as Reaver carapace weapons even without a spacing column. I just glued in the arm pieces to the shoulders, filed them flat and inserted 3x1mm disc magnets. Quite enough and less work than with a Reaver even.

I agree with this. The Reaver didn’t look right to me when I’d finished magnetising it and it really bothered me, so much so I striped the magenets and glued the arms. I tried a few dry fits on the Warhound with the different sizes of magnets I had but ultimately I think I’ll end up with a few boxes of these so I’ve glued them.

The fact that there’s only one upper arm type is definitely a plus for magnetising though, although you’d have to leave the cables off for maximum flexibility I guess?

I'm not going to bother magnetising my first two 'hounds, as they're going to be armed with a mega bolter and laser destructor. It's a very flexible combination that's got enough punch to do damage when the voids go down. I've got 5mm, 3mm and 2mm (so tiny!) magnets, so I'm considering magnetising the other two. There's a chance for more weapon releases, so I'd be able to swap them in, and the effort seems quite minimal. The cables are limiting, though, as three of the weapons share the same cables.

I'm very pleased with the leg flexibility. Even following the instructions, you've got four poses. And if you mix and match the pairs you can get another four without any cutting. Not all of those se one four look great, though.

I left the cables unglued up in the armpit. It's out of sight and out of mind to me, to the cables do seem like you can fix them to the arm and leave them loose.

Edit: phone issue.
