keeblerartillery
Alright! It has been quite a while since I have posted...because I was working on a Salamander's commission! Here it is - though I am glad to get back to my boys in red. Thankfully, I learned a lot and have gotten much faster at painting. That said - I finally finished my Death Company! Next up - Astorath. ranulf the revenant, Grotsmasha, baldur27 and 1 other 4 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/350566-carmine-blades-wip/page/4/#findComment-5500029 Share on other sites
keeblerartillery
Ok - small WIP of my Astorath conversion. Do I do his shoulder trim in gold? keeblerartillery
I've finished him (minus a varnish). I really think this is one of the best/most grimdark minis I've painted. C&C very much appreciated! Sandalphon
Spectacular force (I'm late to the party) the marbling is a great effect, the red is particularly striking but it's good to see it mixed up but still trying them all together. The armour on the chappie appears very grey and a bit flat compared to your other work, but the pose and blood red are spot on, he appears to be recovering a relic from a fallen brother on one hand, and in the other hand is some serious retrbution keeblerartillery 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/350566-carmine-blades-wip/page/4/#findComment-5501816 Share on other sites

I did the armor for him and my death company before I did a salamanders commission in which I learned a TON - and I didn’t have the heart to strip them and re-do it haha. I totally see that though. keeblerartillery
Alright - I started work on my Sanguinor! As I was painting him gold I realized...I'm painting a jump pack. A mystical warp entity wouldn't have a jump pack. But Azkaellon would. So instead of going golden warp entity, I decided to go legendary warrior. Eventually, I'm going to add blood to the wings and go for an overall older, darker look. Like he's been travelling through space and time fighting for thousands of years, but still maintaining the dignity and beauty of Sanguinius. Let me know what you think! Bjorn Firewalker
I like the subtle shading on the wings, which give them literal depth; and the lightning effects on his sword. Bjorn Firewalker
Excellent work on the Incursors and the Sanguinary Guard. I notice the latter have gorgets similar to those on Mark VIII and X power armor. Will 9th Edition feature Primaris Sanguinary Guard (or whatever they'll be called)? keeblerartillery
Alright guys - I present my take on Mephiston! I originally got into BA because of his 2nd edition artwork, so hopefully I did him justice.
