Droz_64
I've got the Start Collecting (Unbuilt), a Commander (Unbuilt), a kitbashed Cadre Fireblade a Pathfinder Squad (Unbuilt) and a Piranha (Unbuilt). What's the best way to put this together to reach 750 or 1000pts? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/350588-starting-out-with-tau/ Share on other sites
elmo
Welcome to the Empire. Although I am not really a serious player what I can advise that you seriously consider doing is magnetising as much as you can. This will help when an FAQ is released or the next codex comes out so that you are not left with the annoyance of cutting off weapon options to swap them with the newer better version. Also handy for when you are going up against different types of armies such as hoard or high armour. IronDreddKnight
You’ll need at least another box of fire warriors to make 3 squads to meet the troop tax for a battalion detachment. As an example of how the list would look (IMO) Battalion detachment Cold star commander: X3 fusion blasters + shield generator Fire blade Ethereal + hover drone 6 fire warriors 7 fire warriors 7 fire warriors 5 pathfinders - x2 ion rifles 5 pathfinders - x2 ion rifles Piranha - burst cannon + x2 gun drones 3 crisis battle suits - 3x3 cyclic ion blasters + x6 shield drones This comes to 903 points do you can add what you want. (I recommend filling out the fire warrior squads) Now I know this isn’t the most competitive list, it does cover all the bases and it’s a good place to start learning tau.
