I really like the look of the new ork stuff.

I was thinking, I want a small army 1500-2000pt, with the below,  and have no idea what ork stuff I should include.

what I would like:

2x RukkaTrucks

1-2x Boom Dakka Snazzwagons

1x Lord on Tri-k

besides that, what do I need to have a fun, good time.

To be honest, I'd hold off on buying much else until the codex drops and you get the time to read through it.

Do make a plog when you start your Orks. It'll be nice to see more Boyz about the forum.

Hope this helps.

If your goal is to have "a fun, good time" then the next models you should get are whatever looks cool to you. You might even take a look at WC's sample army as a basis, since it doesn't look terrible boyz for objectives and CP since orks can fill a battalion fairly easily, fast attack detachment filled with your buggies.

Hopefully trukks will be around 50-60 points, and you can fill your troops with small boyz units and trukks. It will be evocative and matching theme with the new stuff you want, and won't require you to get 100+ boys. Regardless, boyz are a safe bet to pick up. Start with a small number, and if down the line you decide you'd like a moderate horde, you can always get more.

Mek Gunz are a great kit and the KMK is pound-for-pound, point-for-point the best gun in the army. It's an expensive kit, yes, but I cannot stress how beautiful it is.

Everything else is a hard wait until the codex comes out.

I think a couple of 10 man units of boys in trukks, some bikers. But really go with whatever your heart and wallet desires.

The Kult of Speed battleforce + Speed Freeks boxes + 2 - 4 more buggies of your choice will probably be a sold start!

I bought  a Orruk Mega warboss.

- I half built him, gonna make him my Warboss in mega armor. I'll grab the dex and 1 rukka truck next weekend. build and paint those and then increase my ork stuff model by model. until I have a fun force. =D

WAGHHHH

- I was thinking of converting some tau/centurian weapons for my mega boss. I gotta figure out how to make a cool claw.

Can you build the Orruk megaboss without the big skull? Or does it have part of the arm on it? Not a fan of that. Also don’t personally like the obviously medieval boots, but that’s just me. Otherwise he’s an amazing Warboss.

Can’t wait to see what you do with yours! And especially looking forward to seeing the Rukkatrukk. Are you going to build and paint in sub assemblies?

You can, but you have to do some cutting to get the skull off, and if you're not careful, you'll destroy the skull to a point where it can't be used afterwards.

I think I have to, the rukka truck has lots of interesting bits.

I'm also thinking about magnetizing the orks on the rukka truck.

Great idea on the Orruk mega boss   I honestly HATE those stupidly huge shoulderpads (think WoW on steroids) they completely ruin a great model and i reckon your idea is Mega :tongue.:

if i ever go the Waaaaagh route he'd def be my warboss !

The MegaTrakk Scrapjet :cool.: has got to be the Coolest Ork Vehicle to date in my books ...i'd nearly build an army around those !! ...and the Aircraft too  ...

Can't wait to see what you come up with Triszin... Whats the "theme" of this army going to be then ?... titanfall doesn't fit Ork's :teehee:

Cheers, Mithril

Okay, screw power klaws, this weapon is king. This guy looks really intimidating. I see you went for the Gurren Lagaan inspiration after all. :biggrin.:

His Drill is the drill that drills!

I decided on my theme.

THeme: ORKS! Snakebites!

I'll have a few nods here and there to other themes.

The drill is gurren laggann, the name is a nod to gears of war, general Raam.

Your warboss is absolutely stunning. How did you go about converting that gorgeous drillfist?

It's made from the centurion drills, cut and angled together.

As to updates. Not much, got my Savage boys and bits in. Will have updates in about a week? Lots to do to get there. :/

added some more bits to my warboss.

gave him a powerpack that doubles either as a "rocket" strapped to his back, or a flame thrower to burn anyone cowardly enough to attack his back.

attached some cabling to the drill.

planning to sculpt a "arm computer" with power cabling for his gun arm.

also made a Tau drone, with an axe embedded in it, and some ork charms on it. going to chain it to his right shoulder pad.
