Logiter
Hope this is the right place to post such a topic! I'm travelling for work in a couple days (within Canada) and usually pack models in my checked luggage so I can get some painting done while on the road. At this point however I'm doing up some Khorne models (bloodcrushers, bloodletters and skull cannons, all assembled) and they're a bit large/fragile to be packed away in my suitcase. Has anyone here ever had any trouble flying with models as a carry-on package? The last thing I need is to arrive at an airport and have CATSA tell me I cant bring them through security. Again, mostly a concern because of the "pointy" nature of all things Khorne. Any information you can pass on would be greatly appreciated! Tyriks
The Independent Characters has talked about this several times. I think the episode about picking carry cases specifically goes into this. They said to expect them to look so you should be proactive, tell them you have fragile models and offer to open it for them and help them look through it so you can be as gentle as needed. I haven't ever done this myself so I'd suggest listening to that podcast. Logiter
Sweet, thanks for the reference! I'll look into the podcast and be sure to pack them in such a way that they're easily inspected. Ficinus
It's been a while, but when I flew to Chicago from Baltimore for Games Day, the guy at TSA stopped me and asked, "Do you have Lizardmen in there?" I think he played 40k. This was also back when most of my models were metal.
