UniWolf
So I’ve been playing warhammer now for just over a year and am still yet to get Bjorn. What ranged weapons are included in the venerable dreadnaught box? I’m looking to equip twin las Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/350872-dreadnaught-box/ Share on other sites
Yoyo ninja
You don't get twin las in the box unfortunately. The box comes with an assault canon, a multi melts and a frost canon. There is a twin las in the vanilla marine van dread box though. I picked that up from an eBay bits seller. Although it depends on if we're talking Venerable Dreadnought or Space Wolf Venerable Dreadnought. TiguriusX
Most SW get a space wolf dread box and a generic dread box Bjorn uses some of the SW bits and the twin LC from generic dread Generic dread uses the rest of the SW options I personally picked up the twin las bits on ebay for my bjorn and got a generic dread from a batch my friend ordered cheap Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/350872-dreadnaught-box/#findComment-5181086 Share on other sites
Kasper_Hawser
For fluff reasons, I traditionally use a Plasma Cannon. A bit inefficient but ever since reading Battle of the Fang, I've always used Plasma Cannon (from Venerable Dreadnought set). Easy enough to wolfify. Also you don't have to get the official Space Wolf Dreadnought set to make Bjorn, any customised Dreadnought will do as long as you fit a nasty Clawlike weapon on the left arm. Rules wise, welcome to one of the best characters in the game. his only weakness is lack of an invuln so do be careful. Otherwise he wrecks Knights on the charge. My Bjorn to date is a Venerable Dreadnought with some wolfy bits, which also happen to be my very first Dreadnought. NatBrannigan
Slightly behind the times here but... I'm starting a Marine army and after foolishly flirting with various codex chapters I've come back to the Wolves. I want to run Bjorn and a pair of Redemptor Dreadnoughts, but I don't want Bjorn to look puny next to them. Do you think it's ok to 'Bjornify' a Redemptor? I'll give him an Assault cannon or Twin Las (not available to Redemptors) and Trueclaw and adorn with bits from the Bjorn kit, then use the Bjorn rules for him. Still mostly WYSIWYG so should be ok? Nadir
If you are going to play in tournaments, than the answer is no - because these two types of dreadnoughts have different base size (so Bjorn's aura abilities will be bigger). Other than that I think in casual games it should not be a problem. TiguriusX
If you are an amazing artist and give all the tournaments a chance to approve or deny in advance it "can" be done. The rule of cool might always apply and you never know unless you ask. You probably have to make concessions like reducing aura from base (you can measure the distance from actual bjorn and compare to your conversion). Is it worth all that and the chance they say no....that is your ultimate decision Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/350872-dreadnaught-box/#findComment-5187834 Share on other sites
NatBrannigan
Taken some of these points and started another thread, don't want to hijack this one any more than I have! Thanks all.
