Hunger by Andy Smillie

Inspired by the Interrogation of Salvor Lermatov post by @Punishing Pete, I want to bring up this audio drama from BL. I originally posted this in the Blood Angels section, but thought the whole BL section might find it interesting:

It’s fantastic.

“Blood Angels” (Flesh Tearers) on a space hulk fighting genestealers...oh boy that’s original...

...but neither is a finely cooked steak at a top notch restaurant.

The voice acting, sound effects, pacing, and everything really hits the perfect notes.

This is the closest thing to actual Angry Marines we may get from BL.

Definitely worth a listen while hobbying.

Couple standout points for me:

-Death Company suspended in Drop Pods, ready to go...basically a “Break Glass in case of need to :censored::censored: up”

-why do Death Company listen to/obey Chaplains? Because Chaplains RAGE and that’s the only thing DC can process

-...such as a Chaplain having to burn out his power fist “directing” a DC Dread

-what’s the only thing that sounds better than an assault cannon ripping through xenos? A Chainsword ripping through xenos

-learning why Gabriel Seth doesn’t wear terminator armor

-hints about the fate of Amit

-Flesh Tearers as the "dark" successors of Sanguinius (they're not all cupcakes and roses, especially in how they treat their serfs)

If you think they are the "dark" successors then better don't look up Angels Vermillion lol (at least until the events of Devastation of Baal)

Three words: Knights of Blood

Or are we forgetting the Blood Angel successor that was declared Excommunicae Tratoris because they were too violent for the Inquisition?

To be fair, Flesh Tearers, as founded by Amit, WERE the dark successors. They were the rage incarnate, and still are, whereas a lot of other dreaded Blood Angels successors of later foundings are often more struck by the Thirst rather than the Rage. Amit took the ones most obviously on the edge of madness, back in the day, but the sons of Sanguinius are never entirely removed from the precipice.

Yeah they took the same philosophy Flesh Tearers are following one step too far and served as a lesson for Seth. However the Knights of Blood don't exist anymore aside from my headcanon tribute Primaris chapter lead by original Knights of Blood who returned from the Deathwatch. :P
