Mellow
Couldn’t see a thread on this one which surprised me for a numbered novel. Enjoyed it as I’d not read any of the entries before. Taliesin
Picked it up at the Weekender, largely because it has all of the stories from last year's Advent in it which I had not read yet and which were very well received here. Also because of Swallow's story which is a prelude to Doom of the Death Guard novel. DarkChaplain
We had one quite a few months back, when it was announced: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/348225-hh-52-heralds-of-the-siege/ I didn't read all the stories they included yet, though I'm missing only 2 or 3 maybe. Generally, the collection is fantastic from a quality standpoint. Is Restorer (Chris Wraight) too new to have been included? Evidently. This raises a question - if book 54 is the final publication, will the remaining shorts and audios not be collected into a single book? Wasn't there a pledge at some point that all the shorts, novellas and audios would be made available in mainstream books? Petitioner's City
Has anyone worked out what shorts and other publications aren't in universally available print? b1soul
Parts of Restorer occur during the Siege...so maybe it doesn't fit "Heralds" Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/351106-hh-52-heralds-of-the-siege/#findComment-5189466 Share on other sites

I think BL starting a Siege of Terra subseries leaves the door well and truly open for more cleanup later. There's a bunch of stuff worth collecting still, not least of all the two novellas released yesterday. Chances are, while the series is over for the time being and moving on to the Siege, they might go back and add more at a later point, when there's a reason to do so or enough material to fill another anthology. Red_Shift
I started reading it last night and I'm four short stories down so far, all very enjoyable. Good light evening entertainment for me. Marshal Rohr
I just started the audio version and Myriad is cool so far Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/351106-hh-52-heralds-of-the-siege/#findComment-5218816 Share on other sites
DarkChaplain
Myriad was one of the weakest in the anthology to me. It started out interesting but then dropped what it was up to in favor of hyping the AI again, for futures unknown. Red_Shift
I enjoyed myriad. I love the references to dark age technology. I wasn't as keen on Ember Wolves. I felt it was a bit one sided although ursus claws seem like a cool concept.
