New Forge World SW Doors Paint Scheme

I got a set of the new doors for my Spartan and couldn't find pics anywhere to use as inspiration on how to paint them. I repainted mine 2 or 3 times before settling on this scheme:

I figured others out there might be in the same boat so, if you've painted these new doors share some pics too?

Thanks!

I tried a bunch of different combinations but didn't get enough contrast so you could see the wolf head clearly at tabletop height. I eventually realized that painting the knotwork yellow gave a light enough background for the wolf head to pop. It wasn't hard to paint at all, either. The knots are all recessed so it was just a matter of liberally applying thinned yellow everywhere and then cleaning up the raised areas with Russ Grey.

Krom Dragongaze uses the Sunwolf (also spelled "Sun Wolf") as his and his Great Company's emblem. According to his Warhammer 40K Wiki article:

Krom's sigil is that of the Sun Wolf, who makes the belly of the sun his lair, and attacks Fenris anew with every dawn.

Guess it matches Logan Claus on his sleigh then? :)

I thought the same thing at first but i like how the red from the nose visually balances the red mane. I understand what you're saying though.

How about making the nose just a sloghtly darker grey but instead splatter some red around his mouth and on his teeth?

Less drunk Rudolph the Wolf, more bloodied Greatwolf?

Nah, I like it the way I did it. Like I said, I tried it 3 or 4 other ways and ended up liking the balance the red gives the piece.

I didn't start this thread because I didn't like what I ended up with, I just didn't see these doors painted anywhere online and wanted to help the next guy.

Perfectly valid, Brother!

Was just another idea thrown into the room for you or others to use.

Generally I like the idea of these bright colored decorations on venerable Relics of the Chapter.

Reminds me of the brightly colored depictions in old tomes or colourful ornamentation in (properly restored) old Castles!

(Also it fits the "We can't give a rat's ass about your opinion" our Chapter has)
