karden00
So, I've heard that Guilliman is currently penning a work called the Codex: Imperialis. Which from what I understand, is a comprehensive treatise on the Imperium at large. Which is exactly what the real world Codex: Imperialis from 2nd edition is. Kinda funny to think that in some in-universe and real world way, Guilliman is writing the book that did so much to solidify the fluff in earlier days. Makes me think he is really bringing the force behind the odd text on the early Ultramarines banner that said "Our Presence Remakes The Past."It's a fairly meta point, maybe its all in my head. Brother Tyler
Of course it is all in your head, karden00, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real? It makes you wonder if codifying the Byzantine structure of the Imperium will eventually lead to reformation. Imagine Roboute Guilliman asking the representative for the Ordo Redactus: "What would you say ... you do here?" Kastor Krieg
It's pretty awesome. I love "in character" purely fluff books but this is a step beyond that, a proper analytic piece of work that's written BY a character, even though the narrative is impersonal. N1SB
It's a fairly meta point, maybe its all in my head. Every time I read a new issue of the Regimental Standard like the good Guardsman that I am, I feel the same way. It's like my mind is blown every week. Felix Antipodes
Once upon a time a reference like this would lead to a background book from BL. Oh that it was still the way, as I would love a Codex: Imperialis 2.0 to signpost the new, post Rift, Imperium.
