Woe to the Vanquished
Good to be back in the hobby after basically a decade away. I’ve drifted in and out of the hobby my entire life for a variety of reasons, but I first got bit by the Warhammer big back in the mid 90s just about the time the original Sisters of Battle Codex was released. I think the hobby provides an outlet for imagination, my love of dystopian sci-fi, and a need to make thing and tell stories. With that said, I’m starting literally from scratch as I had divested myself of EVERYTHING last time I went into hobby hibernation. The silver lining is that I don’t have that shelf full of stalled projects and unpainted plastic. Instead I have 5 primaries marines and 1 redemptor dread on my table, and that’s it until they are done! I will NOT make the mistake of deluging myself with plastic again. I have made this specific promise once before and before I knew it I was selling a couple dozen unopened boxes of minis. So, I’m pretty psyched to be here and looking forward to contributing. Also, Happy Thanksgiving to all the Americans out there. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/351391-hi-everyone/ Share on other sites

I remember you from Sanctuary 101. Great times! It's a smart move not burying yourself in a pile of new plastics, although I miss the pewter models. I don't know which is more fun, having a clean slate as you say or swirling around looking at all of the new models and factions that weren't available from so long ago. This is a great place for great advice and inspiration. I even read here that the Sisters of Battle are getting some rules in the next Chapter Approved book coming out soon. Have fun beginning again! It's a great time for it. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/351391-hi-everyone/#findComment-5197277 Share on other sites

Yes, they were good times. Lord Raven 19 is right about Forgeworld. Stare into it long enough and it will stare back at you - and suddenly it will have your credit card information. Woe to the Vanquished
I have looked at the Forgewold stuff, and I gotta say, it's tempting. Those prices though make the decision easy. I've got enough worries without mortgaging my house for a Sicaran battle tank. Burni
Welcome to B&C! I recently got back into the hobby in a similar way, with a similar plan - 'don't buy until you've finished painting what you have'. Sadly, I was weak and the plastic pile of shame is ever growing... Beware GW's discount boxes and Specialist Games! They'll get yah! Look forward to seeing you on the site!
