Space Marine Heroes, Lamenter one off!

Hey guys, been a LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time since I posted here properly, 2014 maybe?

I stopped playing/painting for a while, sold all my stuff except paints and brushes and basically said goodbye to the hobby. Then early last year one of my buddies at work who plays suggested I start again, so I did. Haven't finished a 40k army yet (though I do have some bolt action germans) but I've been working on my painting. With that in mind, here's my most recent, one of the blind-box Space Marine Heroes models, I think it's Brother Titus.

I won't be painting any more Lamenters, unless someone can come up with a whole shoulder-pad transfer system!

Love the skin tones, great yellow and a lot of nice little details, especially the chapter symbol.

Brilliant model, well done sir!

Note: I may have to knock off a few points during judging because you didn't spell ZEAL with a red, but then that's a Black Templar thing, so maybe it's Ok. ;)

This is absolutely magnificent.  I have a Space Marine Heroes Series 1 and a Series 2, so I fully appreciate what you've done here.  Beautiful paintjob, I love the little chip damage, I am in awe.  I love how you chose Lamenters and their yellow Chapter colours and iconography, too.  What a great use of that figure.

Brother, you're living proof of quality vs. quantity of posts.

I see that challenge and raise you: https://www.chaptercustomizer.com/chapter1 for the hearts and

http://www.fallouthobbies.com/decals/ Scroll down to green skin and you can change the white checks to black or leave them white. Up to you.

Oh yeah awesome Lamenter dude mate!

Really good looking model! I especially like little tactical/campaign symbol on the leg (is it a transfer?).

I am not sure if you are looking for some constructive criticism, but in case you do…

the freehand symbol of the chapter needs a bit of work. It is good but the “heart” is a bit too curvy and the drop of blood is banding as it falls…  also, did you dry-brush metallic? There is nothing wrong with dry-brushing but try to paint metals and then use some inks (brown, black, purple) you might get a better result.

All in all, this is a really good model! Definitely display quality. All my “unwarranted” suggestions are just in case you are going for a competition level painting…

Hope to see more SM from you.
