Dark_Master
From another thread made me think of this We’ve had the Contemptor and the Deredeo, what’s happened to the Furibundus? Should the Leviathan have been the Furibundus? Brother Casman
I was under the impression that the Furibundus became the Furioso Dreadnought as seen in the BA Codex? Dark_Master
I was under the impression that the Furibundus became the Furioso Dreadnought as seen in the BA Codex? No because the Furioso is a Castraferrum Pattern Dreadnought variant. The original three before the boxy one were Contemptor (Chuck), Deredeo (Eddy) & Furibundus (Fury) They’re supposed to be self contained patterns, like the Lucifer (whatever that turns out to be). The Leviathan turned up out of nowhere*, which makes me think it was going to be the Fury but was changed for some reason. DM * I’m discounting the non-astartes patterns as they’re for the golden boys Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/351801-should-the-leviathan-have-been-the-furibundus/#findComment-5204498 Share on other sites
MARK0SIAN
The leviathan was made on Terra though, without the knowledge/support of the mechanicum so it’s quite fitting it came out of nowhere rather than a development of an existing pattern. Marshal Reinhard
The redemptor feels like it just redesigned and enlarged castra ferrum for the modern Primaris era. MARK0SIAN
I always thought the redemptor was inspired by the orks :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/351801-should-the-leviathan-have-been-the-furibundus/#findComment-5205872 Share on other sites
Cryptix
The redemptor feels like it just redesigned and enlarged castra ferrum for the modern Primaris era. This. It's blatantly a rescaled castaferrum (and even manages to get past the stupid debate over the last few days of whether dreadnoughts have knees or vents...)
